Where will Leon Draisaitl rank all-time by the end of his career?

Well, kind of. The higher you go to the bigger the gap between players. So 33 is closer to 41 than it is 25.

Sakic was 32, McDavid pushed him to 33. Kucherov will push him to 34.

25 is centres like Messier and Esposito, which will be almost impossible for Draisaitl to overtake.

I can see Moose being too hard to catch but Big Phil is already over rated and an interesting name because a lot of the same arguments holding back Leon (that guy McDavid) apply even more to Phil right?

Also Leon is a much better playoff performer than Phil ever was.

Draisaitl top 15 is clearly overkill. Like he's obviously has no chance of getting there.

At best, he's the third top forward of his era. Most of us would have him behind Mackinnon too, so fourth best of his era.

Top 15 all time is functionally reserved for best player of their era type players.

While I get the jist of this argument that seems to fly out the window with SC performers with a ton being on dynasty Habs teams and other guys from the 06 with heavy representation which in turn influences overall all time rankings one would think.

To be fair the HOH might need to redo their top 40 playoff performers of all time list but still the emphasis on SC's seems overdone at times.

I can see him hitting top 50 all time, but he's very much not there yet.

I don't think he overtakes Yzerman or Sakic, and neither are close to top 25. Maybe he overtakes Malkin, but I don't have him top 50.

He is certainly ahead of guys like Frisov, Dickie Moore and Bathgate one would think by this point.

McDavid, Kucherov, Mackinnon, Vasilevskiy, and Draisaitl are all there. Matthews and Makar will. Likely Hughes too.

That's ignoring old guys like Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin, Kane, and Karlsson.

Or guys like Bedard or Fox or Hellebucyk that might still pull it off.

I think you have to qualify his offensive prime as "statistically" also.

Also when this season concludes Drail will move up the list a fair number of spots. He could very well score 120+ points this year compared to the 70 points in 2017-18.

Orr played on those teams and Phil had a horrible playoff resume with the Black Hawks and was just a mediocre scorer as he aged in a very watered down NHL in the late 70s.

Any critical analysis of Phil shows he was worth less than his video game numbers suggest.

I still prefer Malkin/Forsberg who sit around 50 but he's been far healthier which may give him an edge depending on how he ages. I'd say he has a shot at the 35-55 range give or take.

It's comical how people take away from Drai because he plays on a team with the best player in the world.

But of course, those same people don't discredit Mack even though he plays with the best defenseman in the World & a top 5-10 winger in the game.

Ok so McDavid plays with the best European playoff performer ever for 9 seasons so far and they have no championships? And have won a game past the second round only one year.

It just doesn't add up. Do players not have any impact on winning? Or maybe it's that their stats look better than their actual impact.
