Where are McDavid and Draisaitl when it matters?

I get that Crosby has had playoff success.

That said, the double standard with him and McDavid is absolutely hilarious. When Crosby goes games without registering a point everyone points to his defensive play and dominance on the ice. McDavid's been more dominant on both sides of the ice, generating tons of chances and playing well defensively.
You are comparing a 33 year old Sid to a prime McDavid though. Crosby had 31pts in 24gp at the age of 21. Mcdavid is 24.

He's suffering exactly what Gaudreau has been going through. Neither know what it takes to win in the playoffs and until they do, they won't know that cups mean much more than padding your stats.

He'll be fine. It's just easy to rag on him now because he got so much praise during the regular season(rightfully so? Kind of LOL North). I just hope they don't get swept... That would be a LOOOONG offseason for him lol.

Have not watched the playoff games, but the way I see it, Crosby used his teammates so well that there were 5 dangerous players on the ice at any time. McDavid, I'm scared when he has the puck, but I'm not exactly afraid of the rest of his line.

Stop McDrai and you stop the Oilers. It's that "easy".
Crosby always made his teammates better. In his prime, you could literally put garbage on his line and he would make them better. He didn't need Malkin on his line and didn't have him on his line unless it was a PP or down late situation.

If you can't make it work without Draisaitl, you have some soul searching to do before you can call yourself the best.

What's the point of having a generational talent when basically any team of big teams can just play heavy checking trap trap hockey?

Maybe EDM oughta trade McDavid for 2 lines of grinders

You realize Crosby single-handedly saved two sure goals right?

Just dance around the point since you cannot refute it. jfc
You said he was playing AHL teams and guess what, he’s still playing a Canadian team. I think you confused yourself with your original point.

I wonder if they’ve already booked their McTee time at the McGolf course

He's does not play well defensively

McDavid so far in this series:

CF: 63%
SF%: 60%
SCF%: 64%
HDCF%: 64%
Actual goals: 1-1

Expected goals with McD on the ice is 2.35 to 1.67. Don't try to give me the "advanced stats not actual results" argument, I get that. But the ice has been tilted in the Oilers favour with McDavid on the ice, and a lack of puck luck so far has prevented actual results. That doesn't generally stay for long, so don't be surprised if he goes supernova for the next game.

Trade McDavid to the Pens, Sid can teach him how to win.

He is still the most dynamic player in the NHL.

But if I had a choice right now one player I would like to add to the Jets is that Anderson fella on Montreal

McDavid's performance is exactly why I was on the pro-Crosby side in the recent thread about who was better at the same age.

Crosby was turning his game up several notches come playoff time, at an even younger age than McDavid is now. And this was quite impressive when you consider Crosby was also a beast in the regular season.

McDavid can score a million points against a weak North Division, with a half-million points on the PP.

But Crosby at the same age was a better overall player. At 5-on-5, and all the little things that help you win a hockey game.
In all fairness mcdavid was great last year in the play- ins. Let’s give him a little more time before we judge.

My point is that McDavid has been dominant so far, despite all the posters saying dumb cliches like "he might be the best offensive player in the league but his overall game is nowhere near Crosby/Mackinnon".
