There’s all this talk about depth depth depth, guys like Chaisson etc. Those aren’t the ones I would be posted about. What is Yamamoto or Nuge doing for them. What does anyone realistically see either of these two doing in the postseason when not stapled to a Drai or McDavid
The truth of the matter is.... all four North Division playoff teams would've had trouble qualifying for the playoffs if they played in any of the other three divisions. The quality of play really was AHL level for the most part.
Whoever comes out of the North will lose in 4 or 5 games to their opponent in the semifinals.
As much as I dislike them... the NY Rangers would've won the North division this year.
Maybe he can collect his tears in the Dom from the Athletic cup then.McDavid had 6 high danger chances today and was on for 14. (No Jets player was on for more than 6 high danger chances, in comparison).
Nuge really started to fade then he got hurt and hasn’t been the same since really. Start of the season he looked like he was about to make the entire league know who he was. I was down for it too.One thing to point out - Yamamoto has been one of our hardest working players so far and he's generated a good amount of chances. He's been snake-bitten so that hasn't translated to points, but that's been the story for our whole team lately.
Nuge though... his effort level has been pathetic.
From McDrai to McDry.
He isn't on the PP constantly or playing a team that is giving him repeated odd man rushes. You need any more reasons why he is overrated in the playoffs?I’m on HFBoArds not HFgrammar. Dance from the discussion all you want.
Crosby also had a much deeper team and didn't have to play 3/4 of every game for his team to have a chance. If the Oilers want to go deep with McRai they have to get some depth and get his minutes to a more reasonable rate.
That stat isn't even true. He has 3 goals in his last 11. You know what else he had by the time he was McDavid's age? 82pts in 62 playoff games and a Stanley Cup.Crosby has 1 goal in his past 11 playoff games and three Stanley cups.
Tippet had a great second DRY line, then for some reason he decided to never use it, whether that was McDavid crying to play with better players or he thought he was smart and could find better combinations. He NEVER should of let that line goNuge really started to fade then he got hurt and hasn’t been the same since really. 100% what this is, and Ovie didn't earn his respect until he started to playing a more rounded game.Totally expecting the pre-cup Ovie treatment here for McDavid
Yeah except that was not at all your original point but sure.He isn't on the PP constantly or playing a team that is giving him repeated odd man rushes. You need any more reasons why he is overrated in the playoffs?
I get that Crosby has had playoff success.
That said, the double standard with him and McDavid is absolutely hilarious. When Crosby goes games without registering a point everyone points to his defensive play and dominance on the ice. McDavid's been more dominant on both sides of the ice, generating tons of chances and playing well defensively.

Just dance around the point since you cannot refute it. jfcYeah except that was not at all your original point but sure.
He's going to be judged more harshly since Ovechkin still produced well. By age 24 he had 40 points in 28 playoff games.100% what this is, and Ovie didn't earn his respect until he started to playing a more rounded game.
He’s a flashy player than can’t play tight playoff hockey. He is built for All Star Games. Not heavy stingy hockey.
