When does Trotz pull the plug on Brunette?

Haslam...750M improvements project....Corporate tickets will not replace fans STH lost money. So unless we become THE travel game for other fan bases to own our arena. Whenever fans are fed up with the shit show and quit coming and sell there tickets for cost or less will kill the franchise we love(d)

i dont think ive ever been so indifferent about a Preds team since 2011

Luckily my father in law has season tickets to the Wings and my company is HQ’d in SLC where I spend alot of time so I have avcess to good hockey regardless. Current team is shameful on every account

We discussed at length last year that this is a coach who publicly calls out his players, not just once, but at every single opportunity. He holds grudges and permascratches some young, talented players. He affects the air that he doesn't need to play young players, teach them, or have them improve.

Honestly, I have been disenchanted almost immediately with him. I thought it was strange he didn't get rehired after having a good run as interim head coach prior to the Preds, but the Panthers are unquestionably better without him.

Look, he got them to lock in after pulling a mega stunt with canceling their Vegas plans. Otherwise, he has made a lot of very questionable decisions with numerous players.

I thought Hynes was bottom. I still think he might be. I don't know that Brunette is much better, unfortunately.

Hynes issue to me was also his system, that collapsing at all costs meant we never had anyone out to be able to counter off those defensive plays. I think that is the reason it looked better once we got all of the kids because they had a bit more speed to start with. He also had the exact same issue that Brunette does, his only form of adjustment was to just line blender. He also didn't like playing the kids.

Really Brunette and Hynes are just two peas in a pod, the outside just looks different, and I think Hynes is probably just more of likeable guy from a players perspective.

Its the reason I expect Minnesotta to eventually fall apart. Once people start adjusting to whatever they are doing, Hynes will have zero answers.

And I’d still say the post U2 stretch was a mirage. No pun intended.
It totally was. Did they play incredible hockey during that stretch? Yes. Was it indication if a wider trend that they had permanently turned a corner for the best? In hindsight, obviously no, but it gave GMBT enough confidence to have the offseason he had. It's literally the only thing to happen under Bruno's tenure that has given him any credibility as a coach here

Bruno isnt getting fired.

Trotz has been doing his bidding. He waived Fabbro and traded Tomasino. If anything, we are probably closer to waiving Parssinen or trading him for a 7th in 2027 then we are to firing Bruno. Maybe just maybe if we get rid of Parssinen and he goes on to make Trotz and Bruno look dumb like Fabbro/Tomasino are so far, then Trotz might revaluate things.

Either way, Bruno's handling of the young players is proof enough that he wasnt the right coach for this club at this point in its competitive window. It doesnt matter how well the youth play, they make any error and they get all their time stripped. Skating on eggshells and second guessing all choices isnt going to help them develop.

For the record my "like" of this post is more of a mark of agreement rather than one of actually genuinely liking the situation.

For the record, i hope i am terribly wrong. Unfortunately, i think this organization is blindly loyal. Owners to Trotz, Trotz to the coach, and the coach to the old vets. I dont really see ownership removing a GM they hired 1.5 years ago and was such a key figure in getting the team foundation built. Then i dont really see Trotz firing a coach he hired some odd 110 or so games ago. I think we ride out this season probably get going good enough at some point to screw us out of a top 10 draft pick.

While I agree with your analysis of the situation it bothers me to realize the path we are on. I understand loyalty, but I also have a hard time believing that ownership would condone the decision making Trotz and Bruno have demonstrated thus far. I have zero confidence that either of them can right this ship in the future. It is one thing to make a few bad decisions, but what these two have done is made multiple bad decisions and that is inexcusable.

I think you greatly overestimate the current ownership group’s actual involvement or concern for the decision making that is taking place in this organization.

I don't think they are going to care about what happens with Tomasino, Fabbro, Parssinen, etc like we do, no.

I imagine they have some concern for bottom line $$$, however. Trotz's $100Mish payroll outlay for this season and some of the terms for future seasons must have required at least some level of ownership rubber-stamping? And then that authorization may attract additional attention if we start to see empty seats not long afterwards. It would probably attract similar attention if a head coach who we might owe as much as $10M to over the next 3 or 4 years was fired, and we were still on the hook for that money. But that's all at the pure $$$/business level.
