What's up with the Avalanche jerseys?

Because the Canadiens uniforms are arguably the best in the league. Iconic.
Crazy that people think that teams should change their jerseys just for the sake of changing. When you have something that looks nice and is iconic like the Canadiens, and the fans love it, don’t fix what isn’t broken.

color scheme is off compared to the awesome 1996 jerseys.

and the C on the shoulder is f***ing terrible, looks like it belongs on a Curling uniform.
And the way the C's goes in opposite directions is just horrible.
The Yeti foot was just excellent and perfection.

Infact , that whole Avalanche uniform from 1996 was perfection.....
THEY GOT IT PERFECT ON THE FIRST TRY!
but of course they had to mess with it :ha:

Agreed. They should make the stadium series jersey their main.

That's scary......very scary

Their jerseys are really ugly. First step to fixing them is getting rid of all the 90s grey on them

The whole Avs jersey design was a cutting edge look that worked in the 90s, but it hasn't aged well for me.

I still don't hate it except for the blue pants, but this is a jersey that I liked in the 90s at least.

In my opinion they are (home ice jerseys) one of the most identifiable and good looking uniforms in the league at the moment. and they have the most handsome 1st line in the league to carry them on top of that.

If they win the cup in these jerseys instead of the original black scheme it will be a travesty. Stanley cup celebration pictures ruined, parade footage tainted, the memorabilia leaving a bitter taste in the fans' mouths. It could melt down this board, in fact.

"Classic" just means long tenured in this discussion. Just because the Canadiens have been around longer. It doesn't make the Canadiens' jerseys any less ancient looking.

You're still missing the point. No one is interested in whether the classic jerseys look "ancient". Whatever that means.

This discussion is about bad-looking jerseys. Not about whatever weird trend-hopping standards you subscribe too.

t was pointing out to the sucky 90s designs because they actually suck, not because that happened 30 years ago.

If you don't really get that, then there's nothing else to discuss, really. You can go back to spinning your old Limp Bizkit CDs or whatever floats your boat while people of taste continue to enjoy Johnny Cash even though his music is "ancient".

I dont think blue changed. The red however, did.
You may be right. It may be just the effect of everything not contrasting against the black helmets and pants.

What's odd is looking at various sites, the only mention I see of the colors getting darker or lighter is the maroon getting darker for the 1999 season. No mention of it (or the steel blue) getting lighter anytime since.

Still, I think the effect of the blue pants and helmets makes everything look lighter (and I think the red IS lighter, I just can't find any reference to it). Darken up the blue a shade or two, if not both.

These our the best jerseys we’ve ever had In my opinion. Have always stayed true to the crest too.

You need to get down from your high horse.

Its just your personal opinion that its a sucky 90s design. I for one love it. And hey, you may be surprised, but i love Johnny Cash and could not care less for Limp Bizkit. People have different tastes and yours is not better than mine.
And hey, Montreal jerseys are nothing breath-taking. The colors are too bright, the central horizontal stripe going behind the logo clashes with it and generally sucks, the logo might be "simple and minimalistic", but at the same time is generic as f*** - cant hold candle to the likes of Nordiques, Whalers, Flyers, Oilers etc...

The jerseys aren't bad IMO. The lighter blue helmets/gloves/pants need to be fired directly into the sun tho...yikes

Not on a high horse and completely agree with you that the Nordiques and Whalers logos are way better. They are incredible. Their jerseys also tended to be great, which helped. Also like the Flyers' logo a lot but their uniforms often suck. Glad you like Johnny Cash.

Oil logo is really meh.

PS: Avs jerseys still suck. 90s busy/fresh designs objectively suck too. Keep it beautiful, clean, streamlined and memorable.
