This has already started happening with a few guys who were once viewed as blue chip prospects and now aren't. The value of young players is extremely fluid, and I think people seem to only realize it when it's going in the right direction (Faber, Kaliyev, Spence) and not when it's going in the wrong direction (Kupari, Turcotte).
As you mentioned there is a log-jam at RHD, Doughty, Roy and Durzi at the NHL level and Faber, Spence, Grans and Clarke knocking on the door. Only put Clarke last because he has junior eligibility (whether that is best for his development or not is debatable) but if he's as good as we all expect he should be in the NHL in 23-24.
Forwards is just as big a jam, even if we assume AA and Brown are gone and they don't bring anyone in as a FA that only opens up 2 spots for presumably JAD and Vilardi (since they are waiver eligible). Does anyone see them letting Lizotte go? I certainly don't, he's looked perfect in his role. They could trade Iafallo for a goaltender, but he's another guy that will be fine in a 3rd line role and it's a big question mark expecting a young unproven player to fill his role.
Off-season no....but mid-season next, it's plausible they trade an Iafallo type, or Moore type....but not this off-season If you can get good assets, aka a young goaltender for Iafallo, do it, and plug in Fagemo, but again, that is mid-season etc.
