What's not believable about it?I’ve heard Kyper and others talk about the Leafs turning Perry away and it’s just too unbelievable to think it’s true. Probably is, though.
I argee with you that Dubas is highly intelligent but I disagree with the soft comment. He has begun to get a reputation of being a hard-nose negotiater: Hyman contract, not giving in to the oliers.I hate the culture Dubas has created. There isn’t any accountability, it’s all cozy and coddled. The team looks like him, highly skilled and soft.

Kadri had too go. how many chances can a guy get. Dubas gets a pass on that one. What's not believable about it?
Dubas doesn't want players who get nasty like him. We traded Kadri away for that reason exactly.
The culture is soft, that’s on him, and I’m glad he’s finally figuring out contracts, you can only be rolled so many times by agents.I argee with you that Dubas is highly intelligent but I disagree with the soft comment. It’s sad but the thing that pisses me off the most is how hard this team is to like.Yup, there are probably lots of reasonable answers (accordiing to you)...And that is what matter most when looked at and summed up after responses.
For me: We are too soft all arround: and ya ya some fans tend to think that the "forward motion thinking and stacking those chips will work,...eventually)
WRONGO!
Our team can only create a momentem swing (Which is totally important) But,...we can only create one when we score.
There are way more aspects to the game, and when we get pinned in our end and no one hits,..or they just do a drive by,.,..it shows our weakness, and proves one of our weaknesses. The opposition shows no fear against us. Can you blame them? Nom,,it's our lack of effort and guts that are to blame and it carries on and throughout our line-up.
Yup we need to add gritty players that cover up our finesse players that want no part of of playing griity!
We need a shake up and new direction unfortunatley. (lets not blame it on goalies,...the players up front give too much white ice because "WE THE GREATEST POND HOCKEY TEAM THAT COULD PLAY WITHOUT BOARDS"
Teams around us that are up-coming have added tons of grit so,..there is also that.
IT is time to give up 1 of our top 4. Marner still makes so ego headed passes, Morgan does too and looks more like a forward.
WE are desperate,..I am desperate. Dubas should be desperate ( and has never made a ballsy big trade)
Guts before glory is all I'm asking. GLG!
throw out some ideas, likes or dislikes, remedies....bandaids..ect...
"The oilers weren't able to take advantage of Dubas like agents/gm's previously did" isn't exactly a compliment.I argee with you that Dubas is highly intelligent but I disagree with the soft comment. Is he really figuring out contracts or he can’t sign these cause he simply has no cap space to do so?The culture is soft, that’s on him, and I’m glad he’s finally figuring out contracts, you can only be rolled so many times by agents.
My problem is I do not trust Dubas, which also means I don't trust Shanny (he has drunk Dubas' kool-aid since the day he hired him, and that's why it looks like Shanny is afraid to put his stamp on how this team should be constructed). I only want Dubas to acquire players at the deadline if it doesn't include draft picks.
And I would consider extending them if we won at least 3 rounds. Anything less, and I hope and pray that they both are shown the door.
Perry would've been perfect.I’ve heard Kyper and others talk about the Leafs turning Perry away and it’s just too unbelievable to think it’s true. Probably is, though.
I've never been more embarrassed to be a fan of this team tbh. The Sundin years? There was at least a a few playoff round wins. The Burke/Nonis years? The team sucked, and we all knew it, but at least they played with a spine, and the wins actually meant something.
But now? Dubas has built a team that is downright embarrassing and plays horrible hockey. For the first time in about 8 years I didn't attend the Leafs game here in Winnipeg because I can't even cheer for this team anymore. If the top guys can't be bothered to give a shit why should I? And then Dubas filled in the rest of the roster with equally soft players. If I wanted to watch a bunch of divas run around scared of contact I'd turn on an NBA game.
This is exactly what I knew Dubas would build when he was hired, yet the resident analytics "geniuses" loved it.
I was trying to be charitableIs he really figuring out contracts or he can’t sign these cause he simply has no cap space to do so?
What pisses me off is that this shitty team is only second in the division with only our top goalie and Muzzin and a few other injuries. But what's even worse is that Dubas was unable to predict Covid. How can we pay a man so much and yet he couldn't see a pandemic 3 years before it happened?
Hyman was a huge let down every playoff for the Leafs. He was terrible.Team has almost no chance of winning a cup as currently configured. The team is unlikeable, and their identity is that of a gutless team. It's been like that since Kadri left. Ultimately they are top heavy, no depth., and as a GM you can't rely on signing guys for $1M and hope they produce like top 6 guys making $5M+. Hyman has also been a huge loss for us.
/r/wooshWell, we don’t have a top goalie really. Injuries are a part of the game, that’s why depth is important and not committing half your cap to 4 players, who haven’t won squat. The COVID argument is negligible, as it affected the rest of the league as well. But in reality you should have to factor in the possibility of a few years of flat cap
