Homer: Elias Pettersson will be a top 10 scorer next season. In his career he'll grow to be a player in the mold of Pavel Datsyuk a 2-way force that puts up points.

Least: The Canucks are 2-3 years way from sniffing the playoffs in any sort of serious contention. Their defense is one of the most, if not the most expensive in the league and will hold them back until it can be overhauled.

MH - Devils will have a top 5 defence core in the league in 2 years.

Hughes - Nemec
Seigenthaler - Hamilton
Mukhamadoulin- Marino (Severson ?)

With Casey , Okhotiuk , Bahl , fighting for spots.
Casey surprises and makes the team in 2023-24 and challenges for PP2 spot. Devils fans argue if Hamilton should be traded for forward help while Casey takes his spot.

LH - Devils forward roster is not constructed well. At all. Eventually they make the playoffs but get man-handled and easily knocked out of the first round two years in a row. Plenty of skill but lack forwards with the intangibles needed to win playoff games.
Bratt and Holtz will not be Devils past 2022-23.

Isles

MH: Between the depth on defense and in net, Isles can hang with anyone in a playoff series.

LH: The forward depth just isn't there, scoring has been totally neglected. After Barzal and Nelson, it's a whole lot of meh. If a lot doesn't go right they'll struggle to even make the playoffs.

Most homer: Carey Price still has it in him to be a top 10 NHL goalie.

Least homer: Habs don't have a legit top line, top pairing or starting goalie prospect.

Most homer - my team is the greatest team ever

Least homer - my team freakin sucks

Am I doing this right?

Most homer: leafs are a legit team with awful luck. Their first round opponent for a handful of their last playoff series (save CBJ, wtf was that) was the best opponent they would have faced until the finals and had a legit cup shot the last two years.

Least homer: Leafs have awful management that built a very flawed team that likely can never get over the hurdle without some serious seeding luck due to the way they are build, both in terms of cap alignment and player mix.

Least Homer--Blake has no f***ing clue what he's doing and has completely stunted the youth's growth by acting like they're the smartest people in the room reinventing development, resulting in 1-2 more good years from the vets before an entire franchise crashes back into the lottery despite having at one point an insane prospect pool lauded league-wide.
Recently that’s been your ‘Most Homer’ view 😉

Most homer: I think Thomas and Kyrou are going to vault into the upper-tier league wide of C/W combos and last year was just the beginning.

Least homer: Despite the organization fancying themselves as contenders I don't think the defense is good enough to compete for a Cup, particularly the left side.

Most Homer: Brett Kulak is a massively underrated player and his elevates minutes this year will show that

Least Homer: Oilers still have a shaky defence and Campbell is going have a lot of work to do.

Most homer is probably something around how good Makar is. Though I still expect to be proven right.

Least homer is that I think Georgiev is going to cost us a cup. This is the least amount of faith I’ve had in Avs goaltending since we acquired Varly. I’m afraid we’ll be scrambling mid season to overpay for Gibson or something like that.

Most Homer: Carey Price still has it in him to win a Vezina, Hart and Smythe even at his current age this season, assuming he's healthy again.

Least Homer: Maybe I'm wrong and he's no longer good enough to win a hart - just a Vezina/Smythe combo.

Most Homer: Darnell Nurse is a lot better than he was able to show in a small sample with the whole world watching and is without question a #1 defenseman in the NHL

Least Homer: The Oilers are now committed for 5 years and 5 million dollars to a goaltender that isn't convincingly better than the not good enough options they already had.

Most homer: leafs d is top 5 in the NHL 1-7, best in my lifetime.

Least homer: leafs are cursed so none of that matters tbh

Homer: Chris Kreider is the best net front presence in the league.

Least: The team is mostly carried by 3-4 guys and a good goaltender. Not a recipe for success.

Most: Shestyorkin is the best player in the league.

Least: Gallant and Drury are not good at their jobs. They are mediocre, at best, and were carried by a legendary goalie season last year. They value size and grit way too much and discount skating and skill. The team’s season will likely rest once again on how much 3-4 players can carry us in the playoffs, and maybe an extra two if Lafreniere and Kakko get their acts together.

Most homer: The Penguins still have a legitimate shot at winning a Stanley Cup with Crosby-Malkin-Letang.

Least homer: The Penguins fanbase is annoying and their media coverage team is definitely toward the bottom of the league. Also that Letang is still a really good defenseman.

Totally agreed on Gallant. I am always getting shit from people when I criticize him, but I really just don't think he's that great as a coach.
