2) This is a good game for the Devils. They needed to learn hustle can beat skill and the Flyers “gooned” it up early. The Devils need some resiliency here. The Devils have more shots and the better chances, but Blackwood over played the last 2 goals.

There’s more than one valid reason to dislike Blackwood tbh starting with the way he lied to the team about both his injuries and vaccination status and seemingly wants to be elsewhere after being pressed on the latter. I don‘t care what we have to do but get a frickin goalie. Overpay and get Hellebuyck (upcoming UFA)
I know it’s one game in (not even ) but looks like the same old shit. No one driving the net. Everything offensively is from the perimeter , lose most of the puck and board battles , shitty defensive zone coverage , het hemmed in our own end too often , can’t get a save from our goalie.
I knkw it’s the first game , but before we know it , it will be game #10 and we will be something shitty like 3-7 (if we are lucky) playing this way. We have one goal against a team full of no namers…..

no you are 100pct right... its exact same product as we saw last season. exact. maybe try bastian in top nine to get any kind of size in the top 9... our forwards are playing ok... Graves and Blackwood have single handily cost this game to this point

His attitude is trash. I tried to tell you guys I saw it first hand last year but everyone excuses it because it was the game before he went out for the heel injury. The injury had nothing to do with it. He sucks both tangibly and intangibly.

But getting rid of him is not going to make the skaters on this team suddenly start playing respectable and responsible hockey in their own end.

Devils need to not press next period, both offensively and defensively.

If they let this game come to them and only attack when there is an opening things will start happening.

Right now they’re plowing themselves into the Flyers on offense and scrambling around on defense; both things the Flyers are happy about.

do you not think that other NHL teams have breakdowns? The Flyers have had plenty today. Difference is their goalie is making saves whereas ours is not.

They don't end up as goals with as much regularity because we do not make saves.

We need to clean shit up (starting with the old man behind the bench) but your goalie has to do what he is paid to do...which is make saves.
