We're Around 4 million over the cap even with Murray and Muzzin on LTIR, Who is Gone?

Worse is subjective. Jarnkrok is the definition of empty calories. Move domi down and slide Robertson up to a scoring role. Point is the roster fits quite easily and has flexibility

No worse is not subjective, Robertson can't play in a scoring role because Robertson can't stay healthy because Robertson is made of glass.

Glass might actually be to strong a material

It's hard to believe the Leafs are only spending $4.3M on both goalies combined and are STILL over the cap.

Even with LTIR accounted for.

Every now and then stupidity and arrogance join together into a concept both incredibly stupid, and exceedingly arrogant, at the same time. Like the Leafs whole Studs'n'Duds philosophy. They just had to try and prove they could build a dynasty through revolutionary thinking.

It's analogous to a patron from the enlightenment era.

Someone who believes in alchemy. So they throw a fortune at a vanity project. To prove to the world they were right.

Stupidity in pride and arrogance.

Just like the Toronto Maple Leafs. Who are capped out even after accounting for LTIR. The only team that currently find themselves in that position.

Despite having the lowest paid goaltending tandem of any contender in the league.
Your forgetting their hubris & delusional galaxy brain ability coupled with staggering self importance....now that is a mouthful.

Nylander should be moved.

Sucks but I'd rather lose a soon-to-be expensive empty-calorie winger than a middle class defenceman like Brodie.

We'd noticed the loss at defence more, competitively.
If Dubas had a brain, he would've had both Nylander and Marner contracts expiring the same year. That way the players would know that whomever has the most reasonable contract demands is kept and the other traded. At least then he'd have leverage. I'm shocked he handed Marner a nmc before Marner was even eligible to discuss a new contract. Effectively neutering management.... And giving Marner all control. Seems Ferris with his experience knew this angle and fought for it. Ferris absolutely wiped the floor with Dubas on every way imaginable. Players took notice too. Former leaf and Marner friend, Kadri, switched to Ferris before hitting UFA.

It's shocking Dubas an agent prior to being a manager. Complete idiot.

I don't think a an agent dubas ever considered asking for nmc or ntc. Let's be real good clients were just happy getting an nhl paycheck

The bigger problem is Reaves and Klingberg who are closer to PTO level players.

Thanks for the response.

Most of Reaves salary can be buried, but I don't expect the Leafs to give him the Clifford treatment.

As it stands they either have to start the year with a short roster or make a trade to dump salary. By using LTIR they've already basically said don't expect anyone good for trade deadline this year again. What we see is what we get.

Whether it's better than what we saw last year is anyone's guess.

Typically they don’t sign players only to burry them.

Hard disagree. Calling Nylander an empty calorie winger is just ridiculous for one, and a far better player than Brodie.

Imo, we should be signing Nylander (within reason), so like up to maybe 9.5, and making it work until Tavares deal comes off the books. The cap rising should help here. To me losing Nylander instead of Tavares would be a travesty

You want Nylander for 8 yrs?

Brodie needs to be traded for a younger player, Center or D-man with potential.
then Nylander can be signed or traded depending on the return.
Carolina still needs to figure our their Pesce situation and there are more than a few teams that need to move players or lose them to waivers also, similar to us.
