Possible murray goes on ltir/bought out. Jarnkrok might be a casualty since half his contract has been already paid.

Well... if we move Murray, (not bought out) we have $2.256 mil to sign Samsonov, which frankly isn't enough.

Send one of Robertson or Holmberg down and that gives us 3 mill. Obviously one more move will come, but we're pretty close, it doesn't need to be drastic,

Sorry OP, you’re a touch off. It can be confusing at this time of year cuz the ltir guys are on the cap right now.
With Murray and muzzin on ltir (or Murray traded without any retention) they have 3.05m for Sammy while carrying 21 (timmmins as the 7d at 1.1)

Yeah, I think William Nylander and his agent Lewis Gross will be sent packing.
Gross screwed Treliving over on the Johnny Hockey contract last year. Once bitten, twice shy.
I take the Leafs' spending spree as a sure sign that a Nylander trade is within reach. Signing Bertuzzi and Domi pre-emptively softens the blow.

Glad to straighten it out! It’s actually not a tough situation to navigate. Simply fail Murray on the training camp physical and pay him to go away for the year.
Who on the team has any bonus? Knies maybe? Do you see him reaching any of them?
Willy wants to be a leaf, at the end of the day the agent works for the player and when Willy wanted to get a deal done last time he made it work even when his agent told him to sit at home and wait.
That is why I am asking... If these bonuses hits and that get them over the cap, it will be added to next year's total and that is a bad timing with Matthews extension.
Pretty sure they'd want to avoid that .
Edit : just look at Knies contract, no performance bonuses, just signing bonus.

Move Jarnkrok, he will get a decent return and he was an utter boat anchor in the playoffs anyways. He can’t play in the top six now and he didn’t fit in the bottom either, grab a pick or prospect and move on, he isn’t much of anything when it matters.

is cap compliant to start the year until someone gets injuried. obviously we don't want Clifford in the lineup but wanted to see if I could make the cap work within the current organization and according to capfriendly this lineup gives us 15k in cap space
Edit: let me just add I know this isn't going to happen because it means waiving Reaves and sending Knies to the minors but it does work cap wise

If Knies hits the bonus levels that make any substantial impact on next years cap that only means he and likely the team has had some sort of tangible success this year, and I’ll live with that. They could also drop timmins for a minimum salary guy and run a few hundred grand under the cap to eat some of those bonuses.
What they cannot do is predetermine that next year they’ll still be paying Matt freakin Murray
