Agreed, Buffalo can be happy for a moment with the win but they got some things they need to work on badly. Not often do you win less than 30% of the draws and win the game. Not often do you get out shot nearly 2:1 and win.
Aside from Miller, I think the biggest difference between the two teams is that their tough guys can actually play the game.
It really came down to the KMG line. They were out there for both goals.
Kulemin with a weak effort to get to the point, And Grabo with way to long of a shift on the second. Blown coverage by Gunnar as well.
Not to sound like a homer but were better team, But Miller was the difference.
Lots to build on I like what I saw from all defensemen(Phaneuf and Holzer especially), The PK was miles better.
Nazem Kadri: 53GP 10g 11a 21 points
Brayden Schenn: 65GP 12g 9a 21 points
That's their career totals so far. Kadri did it on a much worse team with worse linemates and less games.
Don't forget, Kadri is a bust![]()
our tough guys are tougher. I forgot, a salute to OrrAside from Miller, I think the biggest difference between the two teams is that their tough guys can actually play the game.
Another thing, I didn't get to see the whole game til the 3rd, but why were Franson and Komi scratched? I thought both of them played very well Saturday, especially Franson. Is it cause Carlyle just wants to rotate d-men? I don't get why Carlyle doesn't just let Franson play...

I don't understand where this "floating" term comes from with Kadri. All I see from him is him being engaged along the boards in the o zone and d zone.

There are bigger floaters on this team than Kadri. Yet they still get more TOI.I don't understand where this "floating" term comes from with Kadri. All I see from him is him being engaged along the boards in the o zone and d zone.
The Leafs were superb defensively tonight. Anyone who blames Scrivens for the loss is out to lunch. That Hodgson goal was a joke, it was about two feet wide and went off his hand and in.
The 2nd goal is an odd man rush, nothing Scrivens could do on that.
All in all the Leafs outshot and outplayed the Sabres in all 3 periods. 9 times out of 10, they win this game. Miller was the only reason they lost.
Should have scored on those 5 on 3s though. Was watching with my brother and told him right there, we're going to lose the game because of that.
HFBoards is never going to admit Kadri is better than Schenn.
His numbers offensively and defensively have been much better than Brayden Schenn.
Kadri would be hailed as a great prospect if he was on the Flyers.
Only reason Kadri gets trashed is because there is SO MUCH LEAFS COVERAGE...Eakins says one thing about Kadri that isn't good, and it gets published right away.
What about the countless good things he say about him? No where to be seen.
Positives don't sell papers. Kadri's body fat sells their papers.
So far this year he is. If he keeps it up he'll be a star not just a player.I don't understand where this "floating" term comes from with Kadri. All I see from him is him being engaged along the boards in the o zone and d zone.
Gardiner should be back Wednesday, meaning one of Fraser or Holzer needs to be sent back down. I'm assuming this was the audition.
Scott was the worst player on the ice and Kaleta took 2 stupid penalties, the second lead to the Leafs only goal. Our 4th line was better than theirs tonight.Aside from Miller, I think the biggest difference between the two teams is that their tough guys can actually play the game.
