LOL @ at the people blaming Scrivens for the loss. Give your head a shake!! How about scoring on the 5 on 3, Scrivens can't score goals and stop them at the same time.

So I am really puzzled why we won't trade for a goalie since these low scoring games are coming game after game this season. A scrivens cannot win these type of games. He will be pulled a lot in the end future too, and only then we can score. Without scrivens.

"Game after game"? You make it sound as if we've been playing since October. Scrivens let in 2 goals FFS, doesn't matter who the goalie is if you can't score more than 1 goal.

Now that we have gotten that out of the way, let's get back to objectively analyzing the game.

2nd line suxed tonight. -2, just stop making excuses already, makes one look foolish.

I will put a lot of my assets on pens yep. You are spot on.

With our current goalies and this play book, a game in Pittsburgh cannot be won.

It doesn't matter of course when we look at the season. Many other games can be gotten and won. It's very good of course.
 
Not nearly as mad as usual.

Maybe it's because I know we deserved the win, and I really believe we're a better team than the Sabres.

I like this team, a lot.



Liles was bad tonight.

Phaneuf was great.

Holzer was good.

The rest were good on D.

I absolutely love Komarov. Can't say enough good things about him.

Scrives is just so slow. We're lucky they didn't get more than 2 goals. He is so slow to react, especially to wrap-arounds.
 
Buffalo is a pretty strong team, and Kostka looked arguably better today than last game. He is definitely earning his ice time.

On the flip side, I am so thrilled to see Kadri get ice time late in the game with us trailing. Shows the coach has faith in his skills (although part of it is that KGM wasnt great)

Just my opinion, but I havent been overly impressed with JVR. You can see he can skate and has some skill, but im not sure he is the right guy to flank Kadri. Maybe switch him with Macarthur?
 
Bozak did great on the faceoffs, but so did everyone on Toronto. Toronto won 70.3% of the draws (Tor - 45, Buf - 19). Strength of the leafs centers at the draw or a huge weakness for Buffalo?
 
I think if we play that hard against any goalie other than Ryan Miller, we would win about 75% of the time.

Before you flame me, I don't think we play that hard every game. But if Carlyle can get that effort out of the guys every game, we will be in decent shape imo.

What has Scrivens done to make you so skeptical? Tonight he can't be blamed for either goal.
 
The Leafs need some net presence. JVR went once or twice and create a couple chances...
 
Kadri could score a hat-trick and some people in here would still find a way to hate on him. It's like a few people want him to fail/bust so they can say:

"I told you!"
"Burke can't draft!"

Etc, etc etc.
