I'm fine with the result. Not sure what to believe in what the real version of this team is though. No shame in Pavelec stealing a point for them, and needing a shootout to win it. He's hands down the best goaltender we've faced since the last time we faced him. Not like Ellis, Enroth, and those others.

We still haven't won a 'real' game since the front end of the road-and-road series with the Caps, if you're scoring at home. But at least we're winning shootouts again

Not satisfied with this tie/"win" at all. Porous defense and the forwards largely disappeared yet again for a good portion of the game.

Right with you on this. I mean if the goal is to hopefully just squeak into the playoffs, I guess you take the two points running, but I don't know. NJ's game is not where it needs to be imho.

they played very well for long stretches of the game, and a lot of our guys had their best games in weeks.

Gionta was third start until the shoot-out.

The only troubling thing is we dominated in scoring chances and played solid D but it still took a shootout to get a win and none of our "scorers" scored.
