There are ~80,000 cases worldwide right now... say that number jumps to 800,000 by April (likely the peak). We are talking about a very, very small impact. ~35m people get the flu every year in the US alone (some years we escape in the 20). Even if the US gets 1m cases of covid 19 this year, it is less than 3% of the impact of flu. In the 17-18 flu season we had 45m cases of flu. Even if the US number jumps to 5m, we are still talking about a small percentage compared to flu. This is something to watch and to figure out how to treat, but the deadliness of it is really overstated. If people were dying at a rate of 5+% it would be a significant worry, but it is 2% and that number is very likely to be a lot lower. It is going to be like a flu that impacts far less people. You watch it, be careful, but go on about your life.

Just get rid of Grateful Dead Night. During the Summers when I worked at CU and they had Dead and Friends concerts there was an influx of hippies and they trashed the entire campus. I now hate hippies, but I especially hate Grateful Dead fans.

The wife and I just got into Raleigh for the game tomorrow. Apparently we’re staying at the same hotel as all of the Canes’ new deadline acquisitions. I actually saw Trocheck down in the lobby when we headed out to dinner.

All this to say should I or should I not wear my Avs gear everywhere I go in this hotel? Me, personally, I don’t want to get beat up by a NHLer.

I met Trocheck a few years ago and he was a really nice go so im going to assume it wouldn’t be a problem.

Side note - when I met him I asked about Pittsburgh (his hometown) and whether it was weird playing the Pens for him. He said no and implied he didn’t really like the players on the Pens. I then asked if it’s because Crosby is a bitch, and he laughed and said yes.
