Oh F*ck... Sakic has that same type of love for Jost that Roy had for Holden. This is some BS...

And if Bura wasn't just sick, and LBN was injured as well, why didn't we get another body? Lehkonen was there, why not add him and Namestinikov to cover?

Because they will both probably miss only tomorrow's game if that. Not worth getting somebody else for that.

Eh...I wouldn't read too much into any tire-pumping Joe is doing on Josty's behalf. He's doing what he can to instill confidence in a young player who more than likely thought he was gone after the deadline and has had a nightmare season thus far.

Didn't really know where to put this but, I've been extremely pleased and a bit surprised with LOC in his limited play time since being called up, wish they'd give that guy better opportunities on a line with Compher and Nuke when Calvert is back and throw that Nieto/PEB/Calvert line back together that completely dominated the early season.

If they have to use Hutchinson this weekend in one of the back to backs - shouldn't they play him on Friday at Carolina. Have the fresher team in front of him and going against Carolina which is out of conference. Play Frank vs Nashville in the division game to keep the Preds at bay.

Generally speaking, in a B2B situation like that with such a sketchy backup goalie option... Teams usually go all in on trying to win the first game so they can feel ok with getting a split out of the 2 games.

Whereas if they do what you suggest, they're starting a sketchier goalie in game one where the boys are fresher, and then you get your best goalie on a night where the boys could be facing some fatigue issues. A much higher risk of going 0-2 taking the 2nd strategy and no better chance at going 2-0 either.

Good response

So if you were to place percentage to win on this weekend - what do you feel

Fresh team/Frank vs CAR -- ?
Fresh team/Hutch vs Car - ?
Tired team/Frank vs NSH - ?
Tired Team/Hutch vs NSH - ?

I honestly wouldn't overthink it--Hutch just needs to play reasonably well. He will be on a much better defensive team now, one that limits scoring chances at an impressive rate. It doesn't really matter which team he ends up playing IMO. Both will be challenges. Carolina obviously the bigger of the two, but Nashville has still been good as far as generating scoring chances, they're just not getting it in the net.

I'd put Frankie in game 1 versus Carolina. The ideal result being we keep his work load limited and can run him for 2 games in a row again. He showed he's certainly capable of putting up great games b2b just last weekend.

But Carolina is a heavy shooting team so I suspect it would be real difficult to limit the shots against, against the Canes. So most likely I go Frankie game 1, Hutchinson game 2 and the boys just have to really focus on a good defensive game in Nashville.

Again they showed they can play that style well against the Ducks and Kings last weekend. But Nashville is a better team with more offensive firepower.

With the injuries we have right now its all about grinding out 2 points really. We're not going to dominate anyone right now so the tighter we can play games and better defensively we can be the more likely we are to grind out these 2-1, 3-2 type wins.

I'd go Frank vs Canes, Hutch vs Nash.
