Been saying it for weeks, but I hope we see Nuke find his way into the top-6 permanently now that the Avs are sticking with this team.

Burakovsky - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Landeskog - Kadri - Nischushkin

I've like Nuke and Compher together a lot lately though. I'd like to give this a try at some point for at least a handful of shifts:


Bura - Mack - Mikko
Donskoi - Kadri - Namestnikov
Landy - JTC - Nuke
Nieto - PEB - Calvert


Namestnikov is a big time pass first guy and someone who's decent at being able to hang onto the puck for an extra half second to create space for his linemates. With Kadri being more of a shooter I'd be curious as to how those two could work together.


That 3rd line would cause teams havoc as they're all complete hounds on the forecheck and Landy/JTC bring a real peskiness to the game as well.

Nieto has joined the injured list too? Jesus. If Sakic was aware of all of these injuries how did he not add somebody else. Barberio is now a forward? At this point the club doesn't even have a thirteenth forward or a seventh defensman, apparently. That's a mediocre third line as the second line, a fourth line as the third line, and two-thirds of an AHL line + an AHL defensman as the fourth line.

Some how our GM looked at that lineup and didn't think we needed anything else to stop the bleeding until Rantanen/Kadri come back.

Just giving up home ice.

I mean... The Avs have been much better on the road than at home this year. We're the best in the West on the Road by quite a bit.

Can I get Mitchell, Winnik, Galiardi, Stewart or somebody to sign on a league minimum for the rest of the season? My cut is $10k.

I wouldnt read into that at all. It's pretty much GMing 101 to double down on "your guy" after not trading him when he was rumored to be available beforehand.


It is interesting that Sakic wouldnt talk about anything trade related at all aside from talking about Namestnikov.


Sounds like a bit of a frustrated Sakic. I definitely think he wanted to make a move for a forward. I also definitely think prices were extremely high and nobody backed down from those high prices.
