I refrained from this reply earlier... it sat drafted in my reply queue while I debated whether I should send it... @Mike McDermott 's post above seals it...
We only have one guy out for the year so far.

It wouldn't shock me if Oliver, Poyer and Morse all play against Baltimore.

As of right now.....when we're fully healthy, we're still one of the favorites for the title.
Conversely, the glass half-empty version is several Bills could be out for BAL, and injuries to one or more key players and the Bills chances of making the playoffs could drop substantially.

The biggest problem is the snowball effect at thinning positions. Like what happens if Elam goes down next week? He hasn't even earned my trust yet let alone practices squad players or somebody they sign off the street.

IOL is another position that could be a problem as well.

For those of us hopeful Benford may be able to play:

That sound about right. I think Dawson Knox missed about the same amount of time last season.

I am not a big fan of attempting the club at CB. It can be done, but it hard not to be put off balance. I would rather just get him fully healthy as quickly as possible.

Do teams even carry enough CBs on the game/Psquad for the Bills to field a team?

So if you look at our healthy CBs:

Active this past week: Taron Johnson, Elam, Lewis, Neal, Ingram

We still have some dude Kyler McMichael on the PS.

So theoretically, we could get to the bye without signing anyone else. Theoretically.

I anticipate we raid some other teams practice squads. We'll need another safety now that Lewis is probably needed at CB (I know they played Ingram there Sunday, but I prefer Lewis).

Lewis worked almost exclusively at NB and S this offseason/preseason. I’m n out sure they see him as a boundary CB at all.

He was okay on the outside last year when he filled in. Ingram was actually decent on the outside. He was only targeted once or twice and he slipped in coverage but rebounded nicely. Ravens are not super deep at receiver so stopping Andrews would be the secondaries biggest concern.

I also wanna call out, I think Doyle finished the game with a torn ACL ........

With Doyle out, that means depending on if Brown recovers in time for this week, you could be looking at Dawkins and Quessenberry at tackle, with Hart as the swing? I have to imagine he'd get the nod over a PS callup.

expect Hart to start in Bates' spot on Sunday, Dare I say, he looked decent in there during the preseason.

I think that depends on the status of Morse and Van Roten. If Morse can go at center, then Van Roten might get the nod at guard. Or perhaps it will be Hart.

On the Buffalo Beat podcast they made a great point about how the Bills are really paying the price for majorly ignoring oline (interior in particular) in the draft under the McBeane era. Imagine if we had taken Humphrey instead of Basham...
I was thinking about that and the Cook pick during the Miami game, It also still feels like we are an outside threat short at WR

So you measure the health of a team solely by looking at how many players are out for the entire season? I hate to break it to you but there's more than one injured player right now, and the timeline for them to all be healthy isn't anytime soon.

You should see how our depth absolutely dominated a good Miami team on the road….in the heat….and should have won if it wasn’t for a lot of missed opportunities

This team will be fine over the next month WITH injuries.

I have been on the OLine bandwagon big time, especially in the draft. So i hear you

But what team wouldn’t have issues losing their center, right guard, right tackle, and backup center? I think the o line depth is okay?

They swung for Ford and missed. They drafted Teller and found a gem, they drafted Anderson and he was signed off the practice squad. They are trying.

I wouldn't even remotely compare who we should have taken in that spot as the late 2nd and early third are tough to project. Pass rush was a huge need for us and there was a good pass rusher starring us in the face

One thing I just thought of, Boettger should be coming back soon. I haven't seen any practice reports though
I wouldn't count on it based on how Beane sounded at the end of the preseason. He said Boettger had a setback in his recovery, but there was still a chance he could play this season.

The tone of the comment sounded like maybe late in the season to my ears.

Should they be calling more designed runs for Allen? Think there were 2 or 3 against Miami.

They want to limit his exposure for obvious injury-risk reasons (and I see he's "sore" this week), but otoh it loosens up defenses and exploits one of his key attributes.

I don't really have an opinion on whether they should have called more in that particular game, but I think anyone who is strongly against having some called runs for Allen should look at the shots he took in the pocket against Miami. I would say he is at greater risk of getting injured trying to make a throw than on a run.
