If Nash contributes anything offensively I think we win the next round. I think the rest of the guys are all playing well enough to get us there.

Just......anything. Anything offensively at all and we have a chance.

I'm just jaded to him at this point. He just sucks.

Staalwars...

I think it's recognized that each team these days have flaws (was tough to find flaws in certain Canadiens, Islanders and Oilers teams at times). Some teams can mask those flaws better than others by having some of the top players in the world on their team. In the end it is a team game, but again, having top players always seem to give you that edge and sometimes a better chance to mask those flaws. The Rangers have a well-rounded team and players who have been considered top-flight guys. If Nash steps it up, and Richards somehow finds his form that led the Lightning to a Cup, along with St. Louis, and Henrik keeps playing as he's capable of playing, this team has a good chance at continuing its push.

What's with the 200 posts to imaginary people that think Hank sucks and Talbot should be the starter?

It's pretty annoying given the fact that anyone that says such is probably below a Gerbil IQ wise. Would any of you walk up to a kid with downs syndrome and ask their opinion on global warming?

Good lord why the need for 200 martyr's, it's ok guys you don't have to die for Hanks sins.

That said, I thought the series was over Game 4. Pittsburgh wasn't good so much as the Rangers were listless. I am sure in my mind that was a product of the schedule.

**disclaimer**I am not bagging on Torts, for bagging sake, Torts did some good things as a coach but the following isn't one of them:

If this was a Torts team, the Rangers are done. He over played the top players and would have worn the team out. That's what I love about AV's consistent style. He rolled 4 lines kept the top guys fresh as can be. Besides a world class goalie, that is one of the main reasons the Rangers are now waiting for the winner of Montreal/Boston series.

I just think it was a great series, wonderful adjustments ( from both the coaches and players) and the Rangers showed a ton of heart with probably the best goalie in the league, raising his level of play from even the series against Philly, where he was mostly stellar.

BTW, AV completely out coached Bylsma and that made as much a difference as the difference between Hank and Fluery. Both were fairly significant gaps, gulfs really.

Could they have tried to keep the puck in the Pens end more, sure, but when a team is down in the third of an elimination game, they are going to send 4 or all 5 guys forward as well as hang a player or two at the blue line, so you can't just play your normal game. You have to rely on a counter attack to seal the game, the Rangers had that, St. Louis missed a wide open net in the third on a 2 on 1 with Stepan, which would have sealed the game, Boyle had a 3 on 1 which I don't think he realized and then tripped and fell, although while he was on the ice made a nice pass across which Fleury made a good save.

They didn't even attempt to carry the puck out of their zone. They would lift it out of the zone. Then Pitt would regain the zone and pepper Hank. Not very smart in my opinion. Any other strategy could not have led to more quality scoring chances against.

Why are you bothered by this?

Um because they will be rushing to get away from the game as soon as they can, they will be pimping the race during the game at every opportunity and god forbid there is more than one OT they will be shunting the game off to NBCSN or CNBC.

Just wanted to give a shout out to this guy…

Montreal (I said Montreal in 7 over the Boston Bruins and i'm sticking to it!) is going to embarrass the hell out of Fleury

Montreal is playing Pittsburgh in the ECF?

I am glad you have such great faith in your team.

You do know Boston is down in their series 2-1? Same as we are?

You're writing Boston off already too?

Crazy.

Come back next week and tell me i'm wrong, I won't mind, trust me.

Since you don't mind, I guess I have the pleasure in telling you that you were dead wrong. Keep enjoying your fair-weather fandom.

For all the negative things we have said about this team, they have gone to the ECF twice in three years now.

But... the youth we are sacrificing in the process. Not to mention we can't afford to keep losing first round picks. How can one forget that this team just isn't good enough to make it to the ECF. How can one forget that we don't have the kind of elite talent at center to beat teams like (wait for it) :biglaugh: Pittsburgh in a 7 games series.

This is a damn good team. The ECF twice in 3 years is no small feat.

So Kevin Klein leads the NHL Postseason in +/-.

But he sucks I thought.

I must admit that I thought Hank had lost it untill pretty recently, and thought the new deal was a mistake. Thought we would be fine With Talbot & something cheaper. So happy now though, and his performance the past few games has been stellar. I will take some days of now and go crow hunting. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, for the whole family. (I'll just tell them it's chicken.)

It's never safe to bet against the greatest goaltender in the world.

Oh, and I keep posting this because facts matter.

His new contract is now less of the team cap than his previous contract.

08-09: $6.875m of a $56.7m cap = 12.125% of team cap
14-15: $8.5m of a $71.1m cap = 11.95% of team cap

This should end the argument forever about Lundqvist's contract. The cap will continue to rise throughout his contract, and he is locked down for the rest of his career.

We are very, very lucky to have him.

:handclap:

Video I took last moments. Wasn't really watching the crowd, just kinda help up the phone. Thought it would be a fun moment to catch. No better place to be than the Puck for games. That's for sure. Shout to Dave, literally best bartender I've ever came across in NYC. Anyone who's been there knows!

We want the cup!

With everything that's happened probably the most shocking is that we've won 2 rounds without Nash scoring a goal.

The guy in the hat is doing exactly what most of us were probably doing.

Awesome video man.

Wish I was old enough to go to the Puck, lol.

Thanks for the update on that. Your solid belief in him has been proven right IMHO:)

Not only not scoring a goal, but contributing almost NOTHING offensively.

I...
I'm still. STILL
Stunned.

Wow. Just wow.

Totally in awe of Hank. Just a masterpiece and I, like soooo many others, hate the Ice Chickens more than any other franchise in any sport. Is there anything more useless than a flightless bird that doesn't taste good?

True. But I also thought rolling 4 lines with extremely short shifts was an excellent strategy in the 3rd. They didn't push the pace offensively, but they also didn't look tired at any point during the Pens onslaught.

Posts like this deserves a great deal of respect. I salute you :handclap:
