Outside of Trouba, the four players with the least ice time were Kravtsov, Chytil, Lafreniere, and Kakko.

Think Quinn will play them more now that playoffs are pretty much out? Or will he rely even more heavily on his best players in hopes of a miracle?

I feel like that’s a Quinn thing. Always with the excuses. Dude just seems like a born loser to me.

I wish that Quinn was more hands off and let the guys police themselves.

And I wish that Mika or Kreider had been that type-A personality to bring the team together with a common hatred of losing.

But neither of those things are happening, and we've looked rudderless a lot this season. We have enough skill to not be bottom feeders, but we don't have the mindset to will ourselves to be better. We're just going as far as our skill will take us each night, and that isn't an admirable trait in a team.

The fact he’s always joking around during practice bugs me. Even if he looks like shit, even if the team as a whole looks like shit. Like in Moneyball, losing shouldn’t sound like a party with music and dancing. Losing should be a wakeup call to be better.

And, again, beating up on a team that is looking entirely to the future, and without two of their best players on the roster, isn’t exactly impressive.

Now the Rangers have to look to the future. Hopefully they get things right.

I don't mind all the joking, but I hope that once he has a bigger role, we get to see the angry, willful mentality that he showed in juniors.

The kids' roles seem so minimal right now, that I'm sure it is difficult for them to feel responsible for the team's play.

I hate that I'm saying this, but Lafreniere has not looked like a top 6 forward or a 1st overall pick in his rookie season, and that is not on the coach.

You can blame a lot of things on DQ, but not Laf's play.

None of them play special teams except maybe on PP2 clean-up. They are not going to play them more than anyone in the top 6.

LW is blocked by two vets. RW might have a top 6 open, for Blackwell.

Using a lot of early picks on forwards to mold them into 3rd liners who play even strength only seems to be where they are headed.

The difference is Brett Howden was a key component in a trade that saw our Captain sent out to a team he helped win a Cup. Thats the difference. Because there is real no f***ing reason that AHL trash should be getting an NHL minutes.

Trouba being out is a killer, they have 3 1/2 NHL level defensemen on any given night. Trouba going out brings it down to 2 1/2

Quinn is gonna ride the vets regardless of them being out of it. It’s in his nature.
