I like ROR. He was apparently offered the same money to stay in TOR. Rielly is a good guy and a top dog. He can't be a top dog in TOR. JT and AM are the top dogs in TOR. Does that give a bit of perspective?

I'd say that that's what all teams do. We don't have a team, instead we have a bunch of gutless pukes who have no interest in being part of a team.

In case you missed it...we have a thing called a "Group"...that's what management calls them...and for good reason. They are not a team....just a group of guys making some big bux.

That's a tough one. I live and work in TOR, so I probably wouldn't choose the NSH option. I have been through Tennessee before. I don't know.

The media has been covering this all day today. The reporters who cover the Leafs haven't asked the tough questions though.

He has a Cup already and JT has the spot he would most covet. Nashville is one of the three lowest tax markets in the league and the Leafs are the highest. Is Keefe a gifted coach that would draw players to play for him? Is the gang a close knit motivated group focused on supporting each other towards bringing a dynasty to Toronto? Was the last playoff run a taste of a championship just around the corner? Especially with the Cup already I am not surpised.

Kypreos was roasting them pretty good today but its not like this is anything new. The media is generally protective of management because they dont want to be shut out and the rest of it is regurgitating the kinder things the fans are saying to get the looks.

It's nothing to do with softness but poor roster composition and poor penalty killing.
4th line of Reaves, Kampf, and Holmberg have combined for a whopping 0 points while being scored on 7 times. Reaves imo, should not even be in the NHL. He's a liability and does not scare anyone on the other team.
And also other signings like Domi and Bertuzzi who have been awful.
The penalty kill is ranked near the bottom. These combined have led to losses.

I don't watch sports media very often but the roundtable was all over the Leafs last night in the second intermission and my understanding is they were harder on them on the radio today. I think a tipping point has been reached and no one can gloss this over anymore.

Never been to Nashville but you'd have to pay me a hell of a lot of money to live in Toronto. Now ask the question again using where I live in Burlington and I will give you a different answer. Or Canmore. Or Penticton. Or Old Quebec City, or...many places I've been in this (still) beautiful country. Just not the hellhole that is Toronto now (sadly - it was awesome not that long ago).

The big 4 were buzzing last night, would you have wanted one of them to drop the gloves with Marchand and be in the box for 5? Surely anyone else on the team could have stepped up.

There would be nothing wrong with a big guy like Matthews giving one of the Bruins a clean hard hit and letting them know it was all because of Marchand.

It's not like anyone needs to drop the gloves to fight, just send the other team the message that their players can be targeted for some old fashion clean rough treatment in response to a dirty play.

I might say I wanted a stick broken over Marchand's head in anger, however in reality, all I want is some repeated clean hard checks made on Pasternak to send a message that Marchand's actions will not be tolerated next shift / next game etc.

As I coach, I use to ask my players to retaliate any dirty play by laying repeated clean hits on the opposing teams best players. It usually toned down the other teams aggressiveness pretty darned quick.
