Vegas in 5. The Knights have woken and Thompson is fully healthy. We may see him in this series.

Vegas is 4 lines deep. They have Chandler Stephenson and Mark Stone on their 3rd line. That could be the series right there.

Unlike LA, Vegas locks it down between the hash marks and doesn't give away onetimers right in the slot. And their D is way bigger and more physical.
Good old go against oilers until you’re finally right eh.

#1 seed in the west vs #2 seed in the west

Nothing like the NHL division playoff format to have that in round 2 instead of 3 in the playoffs.
The top four teams were within 3 points lol, I'd get the bitching if Vegas and Edmonton were clearly the two best teams in the conference but they weren't

Oilers took 7/8 points against Vegas in the regular season. Won both in T-mobile. LA was a lot worse matchup for the Oilers.

I want Edmonton to win but it's gonna be a tough one, I say VGK in 7 I hope I'm wrong though!

Glad Vegas has the home ice, Oil seem to play better on the road. Gonna be tough, but I like their chances. Not a pushover like the Flames last year.

I'll say Oilers in 6, but interested to see how the feeling out process shapes up.

I expect their PK to cause us some more problems (I wish it would stay at 60%, but not realistic). I don't expect their goaltending to give us as many fits as Korpisalo did for half the series, but I think they are far more dangerous in transition due to having a much better puck moving defence - a solid forecheck structure will be important. A more open series will be interesting but I think that favours us as long as we don't let all the runway get to our heads and start blowing the zone early again.

Against LA we needed to not be bone heads after the whistle. Against Vegas we need to clean up broken plays because they are far more likely to make us pay, outside of Kempe who was a demon this series. Playoffs, would caution fellow Oiler fans that regular season stats mean nothing.

It's going to be a similar series for Oilers because 'Knights' are just a mixed up version of 'the kings' minus an E

This is going to be a really good series. I’m torn on the winner, but I think the winner is going to the Cup.

Goaltending: Vegas
D: Vegas
Forwards: Edmonton
Coaching: Vegas..barely
Thompson isn't healthy so I'd say goaltending is a wash. I agree the Knights have the better D and coaching though.

You haven't been too good at this so far. I expect a repeat of this prediction from you in every round the oilers play in.

Objectively looking at the matchup, the oilers had success against them in the regular season. Playoffs are a new animal and I know they'll make adjustments. Bruce Cassidy scares me as an oilers fan. Vegas doesn't have a danault level player but they're more balanced. Should be another good series that can go either way.
