The league...He is going to be suspended for that.

He had BETTER. If Brown gets suspended for his "hit", Torres had better be gone. I want the jackass gone for good, and if not, Nolan can pay his dome a visit. I want karma to ruin the ***** for good...

Probably not all alone, I think we all know one guy who probably agrees...

I just thing Torres gets nothing and then he has free range on the Kings. I dont care what the new Kings fans say, but goons deter these kind of hits. Why do you think Gretz had Semenko and demanded McSorley came in the trade to LA? It's not a myth no matter what you think

Oh lord,

Colton Orr didn't deter the Leafs from blowing a 4-1 lead and getting dumped out of the playoffs.

That's what really matters.

There's nothing wrong with a guy like Torres. He was simply trying to lay a big hit on Stoll and unfortunately, he made contact with Stoll's head. Guys like Torres, Cooke, etc are trying to clean up their game. Let's try and be objective, rather than basing it on their past history.

Their past, recent history is a factor. It's silly to act as if it isn't the case. It's not about "trying" to clean up your game. It's about actually doing it and Torres hasn't done so and thus doesn't have the right to the benefit of the doubt from the NHL.

Do you REALLY think that Torres was out there trying to injure someone in a close playoff game??? He'd basically be handing the kings game one by doing that, don't you think???

Solid game, much more enjoyable to watch than the Blues games. At least SJ gives us a chance to move the puck :)

Wonder if Sutter will stick with Lewie in center position or he'll just split up Carts and Rick.
Good question, especially considering how McClellan juggled his lines in the third. I think we matched up well with them through the first two periods, but then the Sharks concentrated the offensive talent a bit more on the top two lines and shortened their bench. That should contribute to explaining their better pressure in the third as much as anything else.

I wonder if Sutter will consider moving Toffoli up to the second line, and King down to the bottom six. You have to figure that Richardson will fill Stoll's spot, but moving King down to the third line (say, Penner-Lewis-King) could make up for some of Stoll's physicality on that line. Then the fourth line is some arrangement of Fraser, Richardson, and Nolan.

None of us know his intent but he's not exactly a smart player so nothing would surprise me. Again, with his recent history, his intent is irrelevant but his actions are not.

He doesn't have to have intent. Just be a little reckless and boom.. you're back to sitting more games out.

I'm going to bed, hope to hear good news on Stollie when I wake-up. Big win tonight, goodnight everybody

The irony of this is that after the hit happened and the period ended, the nhl network ran a piece on him proclaiming he'd cleaned up his act and is now a model nhl player with the sharks.

Reaugh's a riot.

@Razor5Hole Antti Niemi handles the puck outside his crease like a caveman killing his dinner.

I get the sense these two teams are 'feeling each other out' ... Like teenagers at a Sadie Hawkins dance.

Hockey just died a little bit in corner to right of Niemi.

Not sure why you're assuming he's not smart. His role is to play a physical game, and with physicality, sometimes, you're going to make ill-advised contacts.

Just keep in mind that he's only had 17 pims this year.

Not sure why you're assuming he is smart with no intent. Great but he's a dirty player. There are tons of NHLers that play the same role with none of his issues, dirty play, or history.
