The team looked visibly deflated after not getting any of the calls they'd felt they'd earned. The Hyman knee, the Bjugstad crosscheck in the back, the Yamamoto high stick in the face, the Bouchard crosscheck in the back of the head could all have been called. It sucks that it didn't. But the team's reaction was very disappointing. They went down 2-1 and never even threatened to make it close.

They should've been called but refs were like nope, Oilers PP too good, can't have a repeat of game 2, Gary Bett365man wouldn't like that, Vegas Cap Circumventers the first one! Pathetic!
Anyways, zebras tonight.

I believe in this team.

They can do better and they can win. It's up to them to go out and do it. If they're the team we think they are, they'll take this adversity and bounce back even better.

To quote Stauffer, if we don't come back better, maybe were just not as good a team as we thought we were.

But we certainly can win, we can play with this team 5v5, we can match their work rate, and we certainly can take care of our own end and our net better. Need to get back to being hard to play against because in game 1 and 3 we were frankly easy to play against.

lol seriously, and blaming Skinner? I mean sure. he wasn't great in the last game but the defense entirely gave up! It takes a whole team to win and lose.
Everyone has seen me in some heated discussions with another poster here about our goalie selections, but I am not confident in Skinner right now. He’s had multiple games in both series where he’s let in weak goals and it’s pretty easy to tell early on when he’s not going. I wouldn’t mind seeing Campbell getting a start just to give Stu the mental break that goalies need.

Man the negativity in here is kind of sad. I understood it when the Oilers were missing the playoffs and things looked bleak, but you're watching a team with 2 future HHOFers in the middle of the 2nd round. They're not down and out, but also even the best teams who have won in the salary cap era don't win every year and often lose out in early rounds. Just enjoy the ride for a change because you're going to look back on this in 10 years when McDavid and Drai are nearing the end of their careers and realize just how blessed we are to even be in the position as fans. This is supposed to be fun and enjoyable, not a constant doomsday every time the team loses a game. You're basically making this a terrible experience for yourselves when it should be the exact opposite.
This x 1000. Well said.

I think Vegas has him figured out but I guess we will see.

Even though it's 2-1 I'd say it's been a pretty even series. The difference is Vegas had one better period in game 1 but both teams have had a complete bad game. I don't think Vegas is THAT good

What I saw was them figuring out a weakness with net front coverage which they exploited often resulting in lots of chances and 3 goals total (sort of 4 considering the disallowed goal on Campbell). In that case at most you could say they no his rebound control isn't spectacular so if the d coverage is soft, there's a chance for you on top of the crease.

Otherwise, I don't like the Whitecloud goal as that wasn't even a 10 goal sniper lighting him up, but I'm less critical of him getting beat by Eichel who's good for 20-30 per year.

Frankly, even Game 3 was just one bad period (same could be said for Vegas in Game 2).

First period, I think Edmonton was unlucky not to be up 3-1 with how close some of thier chances came despite Vegas playing well. 2nd period was a complete disaster with zero push from Edmonton whatsoever and 3rd period both teams played not to get hurt.

They also take it to the net because they know Skinner will kick out multiple rebounds and seems to allow a few goals pushed under his pads.

Net front needs to be better for sure though.

Hyman looks so banged up and the skating is slow. I’m ok if he sits for a game. Held up and get some energy from someone else
I'm just reading this as no Hyman in the optional skate which isn't a big surprise if he's nursing an injury. I'll wait for warmups or Woody's presser before ruling him out.
