All we have to talk about right now is how bad we look

??
I don't think we look bad, IMO. We've definitely had some turnovers, but this has been one of our strongest starts in terms of how little offensive zone possession time the Blues have had, as well as physicality and having offensive chances ourselves. Other games we have spent hemmed in our own zone for long stretches, which isn't really the case here.

Watching the game in enemy Duck territory. Hope Wings score fast so King game moves to the big screen.

The Blues have just a relentless fore-check. I would say better than LA's last year.

Or maybe it's just LA doesn't have the D to make it look average.

Have you checked NHL network. That is where they have had the games when one goes late.

Thanks!
Got it! NHL Tonight switched from news to the game...and a few minutes later,
Caps beat Rags and they cut to the King game....in time to see Doughty's goal live!

Both, I think. The Blues are ALL OVER our defenders, and they're disrupting the breakout. Even when we're not under pressure, we're not able to bring the puck up with any speed, outside of a few broken plays that lead to rush attacks. The Kings HAVE to make better passes, they have to pick up the pace and move the puck up the ice a lot faster. The positive tonight is that when the Kings do get some offensive zone time, they're doing alright with it.

Kings' defense aslo has to work on gap control. We're backing off way too much, and allowing them to walk right in. Even their fourth line gains the zone with ease and establishes a cycle.

What isn't concerning is that the Kings have shown themselves adaptable to winning with a different style. I did not believe that this team could do this well while counterpunching.

The Kings spend too much time dicking around with the puck, which helps the Blues fore check out. When the Kings sit back and pass to each other back and forth from side-to-side or struggle to get the puck out from one of their wingers, they're going to get caught and it's going to result in turnovers. They have to be smarter and react quickly. The top line really struggled with those plays in the 1st.
