His defense is still pretty good. His offense has completely withered. How are the kings still so good with him as their 2c
No one on the jets is cooked right now except Perfetti and he's like 20 so I dunno.
Speaking of low key. Low key Jets brag post.
Low key it's a big part of the difference between top and mid. When jets had lots of dead weight and cooked players from 2011 - 2017 they weren't good. A 47 year old Olli Yokinen was their 2c at some point I prefer not to remember.
Just curious as I don't follow Carolina too often, could Burns recover if he played like bottom pair (if he isn't there already) or do you think he'd outright refuse to move down the lineup?Brent Burns has fallen off hard this season, which sucks because he has a legit shot at the ironman record.

Is Orlov still able to play those minutes? He seems like the natural place to shed that ice time from Burns (but I may be a biased Caps fan, for whom his peak is evergreen). He probably just needs less ice time. He’s averaging 21:30 this year as Slavin’s partner on the top pair. He doesn’t have the footspeed for that anymore and he looks gassed a lot of the time. If he were playing lower, more sheltered minutes then yeah he would probably keep up with the pace of play a little better.
As to whether he’d accept the demotion… I have a hard time imagining him being delusional or insubordinate, so it probably wouldn’t be an issue? But you never know.
Good to know, I always liked Burns even when he was ripping up the Pacific on those regular-season juggernaut Sharks teams. Hope he does make it to the ironman record with reduced but effective minutes - it always bothered me a little when teams are willing to drag out a player's ironman streak at the cost of team success. He probably just needs less ice time.
