Please, someone give me the details of a play where Keaton Ellerby f'd the Kings tonight.

he got pyloned in the 1st which led to substained pressure by the blues. he was on the ice and let a pass get through on the blues 1st goal.

He was good tonight. Not good for Ellerby but actually good. The only thing bad that happened as a result of something he did was a clearance that went off someone's stick and was rushed back up the ice. That's hardly his fault and I don't know why anyone would be blaming that kid. I feel kinda bad for him to be honest, he played a good game and got crapped on for it. Not saying MN14 did but Ellerby does get that treatment a lot.

I'm not exempting anyone. However Richards HAS played better than Kopitar though, especially when you take into account the expectations placed on both. There really is no excuse for Kopitar being invisible in both games, nor is there any excuse for him not scoring in 18 games. When was the last time Kopitar actually had a scoring chance? When was the last time he actually attacked the slot? It's like we're having this discussion every year with his play that goes into abyss for a month or two each year, sadly this time in playoffs.

I agree. It is becoming more common with his offensive play. Defensively he's still great, but with the puck...it's frustrating.

Relax.....This could easily be a 2-0 series lead. I think we spent all our road playoff puck luck last year so I guess we don't have any left. But, I think we may have a few saved up for the home playoffs!

Ok, let's just take a break and look at the positives:

-Quick played great again
-Blues played excellent and inspired hockey yet needed a couple of breaks to win
-Kopitar hasn't shown up yet and we almost won
-Richards hasn't shown up yet and we almost won
-Muzzin has been horrible but we almost won
-Ellerby has been horrible but we almost won
-King has been horrible but we almost won

For all the Kings' negatives which are somewhat positives, we can somehow turn some of them into full positives, and hopefully that can help us get over the hump!

Richards doesn't have the talent Kopitar does, nor is he the #1 center on the team. He's playing his guts out, and he's actually made an appearance in the dirty areas more than once.

Richards playing his guts out? haha ok

Richards has been floating and playing uninspired hockey all season in both zones, sadly Kopitar decided to join him in the final 15 games when it comes to offense.

If we get our offense going (Earth to Kopitar), we'll have a shot at this. Luckily, the Blues seem to be struggling in that department as well.

You're confusing lack of effort with lack of production.

I agree with this, and I am a big Richards homer.

The shape Richards showed up this year is 100% unacceptable.

Sorry man, I have to disagree, and I love Mike Richards. When Richards gets the puck on stick 2 on 2 you can count on a dump in or terrible shot from the perimeter, with no attempt to beat his man. I have not seen him skate past or through a defenseman all season. That is just shocking for someone with his compete level throughout his career.

Like said above, Kopitar and Richards haven't shown up and we've nearly won. It never is as simple as that, but maybe it is as simple as that. If they do we'll win games.

Sorry boba, but you know the other team, they're out there trying as well. Sometimes they make a play.

I don't think this series is as close as a lot of you guys think it is. Can you name one kings player that has outperformed his counterpart on the blues?

Maybe brown, but that is it.

Brown and Williams. They have been beast this game. No one else comes to mind.
