He had it midseason right here in LA and across NA, that huge slump finally enabled him to rest enough to turn it up for playoffs. Too bad this season the playoffs are overlapped with his usual midseason vacation schedule.
What does this have to do with idiotic demands he stays in LA all year?

Zero respect from some for THE star of the team for several years.

Gawd, I'm so glad I came over here to hear at least a couple agree with me on that.

Yeah honestly, they need him to train in LA. And take him out to dinner with players like Ovechkin and Stamkos to understand how to score goals.

For what it's worth, the Bruins lost two home games to Montreal to start off the first round of 2011. They scored only one goal! Then in the Finals they dropped two in Vancouver, only scoring two goals. So can any team do it, you bet. I don't think we should be ruling anything out.

Coming back from 2-0 down isn't an insurmountable task, not at all. The Kings were going to go 2-0 down at some point, that playoff road record last year was not repeatable.

I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm just saying it doesn't look good, especially not with all the bullet points I listed. Hopefully they can turn it around, but thre's a reason it's been 20 years since there was last a back to back champion in the NHL.

I don't think it's an idiotic demand, nobody would care where he stays if he didn't have his annual 20 game scoring slump, at that point you have to ask yourself whether it is a conditioning issue, and if it is, maybe he should train here in LA with the Kings trainers and teammates. It's a logical assumption, nothing idiotic about it. If it isn't a conditioning issue then God help him and the Kings, it's disappointing that he disappears for 20 games each season.

Attention! Attention! The Los Angeles Kings are the 2012 Stanley Cup Champions! We can't win it every year; however, the Kings look awful and it is very depressing to see them play. To have another lead going into the 3rd and then blow it.. Very unlike them. Our D-Core will be our downfall and rare but critical mistakes by Quick will kill us. Blues look like the Kings last season with tons of secondary scoring, great goaltending, and a solid d-core.

They both get no pass from me. Like I said, if the worst happens, I'll have plenty to say on that subject.

I hope they can too. I don't expect a Cup but you never know. All I'm trying to say is, it could be worse.

And I think we saw tonight why Sutter changed lines on Tuesday. Other than Penner-Richards-Carter, the old lines don't really cut it and haven't for about a month. So unless we want Kopitar to take third line shifts, all of them have to be changed.

That's what happens when 3 of your 6 D are signed but can't play.

Again, Richards gets a pass and Kopitar doesnt. Both centers are now playing very bad, thats why the Kings are 0-2.

Except that plenty of people are calling out Richards. Plus, Richards has actually scored a few goals in the last two months of the season...

Actually I agree. Richards is ****. But my expectations from Kopitar is astronomically higher because he is a better player in every aspect.

Richards doesn't have the talent Kopitar does, nor is he the #1 center on the team. He's playing his guts out, and he's actually made an appearance in the dirty areas more than once.

Richards is playing just as bad with the best offensive player on the team on his line. Everything he has done offensively has been at the blue line. Carter is a scorer, so his job is not to create for Richards. Richards is supposed to create for him and he hasn't done anything like that at all.

I don't believe anyone should be automatically exempt from rational and constructive criticism, no matter how hard they play.

a lot of the their turnovers leave the kings pinned in their own end for long periods of time, taking the energy out of the forwards. could the forwards be better sure, but muzzerby has been dreadful.

They were damn good in the first two periods tonight as the Kings moved the puck out of their zone smartly and crisply almost every time.

Again, what has been dreadful is the center play on the top two lines.

What have regular season anything to do with playoffs? Face it, both players have a very dissapointing regular season and now they are IMHO the main reason for 0-2.

Meh, I'm not greedy. I'll be happy with 2 or 3 cups over the next 7-8 years.

Didn't think we were terrible by any means, just gotta finish. Tough loss to accept, but y'know we can get these 2 at home here.. Keep the faith guys, we aren't used to being down after the blessing of a playoff run we had last year..

I'm not exempting anyone. However Richards HAS played better than Kopitar though, especially when you take into account the expectations placed on both. There really is no excuse for Kopitar being invisible in both games, nor is there any excuse for him not scoring in 18 games. When was the last time Kopitar actually had a scoring chance? When was the last time he actually attacked the slot? It's like we're having this discussion every year with his play that goes into abyss for a month or two each year, sadly this time in playoffs.

I think we should be making some pretty good trades this offseason.
