I made a pretty big stink with a lot of posters regarding this team not making the playoffs, and if they did getting shellacked in the first round.

I didn’t think it would be this bad, though.

This franchise is in such dire straits it’s not even funny. Like worse than post-Gretzky trade dire straits.

You got a dumb dumb corporate ladder climber in Luc who doesn’t know the first thing about running a hockey club.

You have holes all over the lineup.

Millions and millions of dollars locked up in aging players.

And your franchise defenseman is approaching a major contract.

You HAVE to play the safe card and just f***ing rebuild. Now’s the time to do it. Kopitar and Brown have major value again around the league. Carter is still a desirable name. Toffoli and Pearson and Martinez are perfect trade baits on affordable contracts.

You have to do it. You just have to. Otherwise, this black hole will continue for another 3-4 years, then Doughty will request a trade, at which point everyone in the core will be truly untradeable. Then you’re f***ed. f***ED. Because you haven’t drafted anything significant with all those 12-15 overall picks.

It’s going to be 15 years before this team is a contender again.

Not with hiring this coaching staff. They had to hire an offensive specialist for crying out loud.

When you get to that point, you know your players suck. A lot of these players were nonexistent. The core isn’t getting any younger and getting swept by an expansion franchise is embarrassing.

AEG needs to get on the horn and find a real Hockey Operations guy. Luc isn’t it, and Blake isn’t it.

Hiring a different coaching staff wouldn't have made a difference. The roster isn't good enough.

Blake has done a good job managing the franchises assets so far.

Good riddance. Team options are more diverse with the haul he brings in anyway. He’s a beauty on the ice but I know with every fibre in my body I’d hate him if I met him. Made zero difference in this series. 0.

I love the kid, too, but agreed 100%.

If you can pick up a Marner level talent, you f***ing do it. Trade Carter, too, and Toffoli. If there’s a taker for Kopitar after his career year, pull the god damn trigger. It will accelerate the rebuild that much more, and you may get a good piece in return. Keep Brown and Quick to mentor the kids. They’re the only two left with any gumption, anyway.

The effort was fine, I have no issues with the heart out there. I have issues with the talent/finish. In a weird way, I'm proud that a lot of these guys went down fighting, so their last Kings game isn't a total embarrassment from a "do they care" standpoint.

Not even close. Back then we played in a dump, had no farm system, no prospect base and traded away the greatest player in the world for Patrice Tardif.. I'll take our current situation over that.

This staff was putrid. Are you kidding me? The offense in this series was a disgrace. A different staff would have made a difference.

But here’s the thing, the players picked the coach. They ran the old regime out of town and look at how they play. At some point you have to look at the players and I fault the front office for that when changes were being made last season.
