6-2 seems to be the Kings magic number...

it won't stop haunting me..

Huh? 6-2???

That Ducks series seems like such a long time ago.

Everyone should check out the GDT from the Hawks boards. Some fans were throwing around the "sweep" word... man just the progression of that thread is amazing. Long read though.

So on Carter did they change that Doughty shot to a goal for a Hatty officially? Is he the first guy with a Hat trick in Olympics/playoffs same year?

It is his goal. I'd wager he probably is the first

Hawks fan right now

You are right. Hawks fans are pretty disappointed that they have not played 1 complete game all playoffs. Nobody to blame but themselves.

At this point the Kings should be heavy favorites in this series. Hawks have not played well all playoffs and have been real shaky on the road. I expect the Kings to win 3 and 4, Hawks win 5, and Kings finish it up at home in 6.

I was real impressed with the Kings response in the 3rd period. They did not let the Hawks get back in to a comfort zone after it was 2-1. Quick really saved perhaps the series on the Seabrook 2-1 attempt.

Looking forward to game 3.

Schultz wasnt that bad IMO. He didnt clear the puck on the first PP goal, that was absolutely weak. Some other little tidbits. Greene on the other hand is getting outplayed, that's more worrysome.

I also rather see Schultz, he has a long reach too.

One thing I have noticed that there's sometimes plenty of room to skate the puck out of the zone or at least make a few strides. Instead of that some blindly clear the puck.

Oh my god, Carter got a hat trick in one period. 14 minutes before his third goal he got his first one. Dann that's crazy fast.

Yeah Kings do this all the time, and I sorta hate it. It's not good for my health. It makes me feel bipolar rooting for this team, one second we are playing like corpses then, we win the game some how.

Yeah, I can see it through every game you guys played, especially the Wild. The wild really got stone walled by Crawford. Hawks didn't look the same as last year, but granted no one is desperate to win a cup after they just won it, so no surprise.

So we're playing against the #1, but we've already beaten the #2 and #5 offenses in the league mostly by flat out outscoring/out-offensing them. Crazy.

So happy for the win. Wish they were coming back 2-0 tho. Shaw will be back next game and this series is far from over. Each game will be a battle.

Kings just like to challenge themselves. Being in total control of each series and defensively suffocating everyone in 2012. This year making each series excruciating and outscoring everyone. If the end result is the same it would be truly remarkable.

So is Jeff Carter turning into a bonafide star? And Pearson/Toffoli are bringing as much as King/Nolan did in 2012 but with first line upside, not third.

I don't know if it looked as bad on tv, but Schultz was a disaster in game 1 but I thought he looked really good in the Ducks series. Watching tonight I thought Greene was the worst player on the ice for the Kings but I suspect Sutter sticks with the same lineup because they won and being on home ice he can more shelter Greene's minutes.

Our lives would be a lot easier if RR were able to get healthy.

i totally agree. Greene looked horrible out there on most shifts, regardless of 5 on 5, etc. his foot speed and agility can't match what the CHI forwards have. he was being beaten to loose pucks and open ice by them all night. its no wonder his TOI was the lowest of the D which isn't surprising. it also limited AMart's TOI as a result, due to Greene getting eaten up.

doughty skated over 27 minutes, which in a 6-2 finish should have been reduced imo.

i love what Greene has done and brought to the team, but its plain as day these are the last days of Greene in a Kings jersey.

It would be interesting to see how when those 27 minutes were played. How much more did Doughty play than Greene in the 1st and 2nd periods when nobody on the Kings could keep up? It was a 6-2 finish, but the Kings didn't have a multiple goal lead until like 5 minutes left in the 3rd period. Doughty had to play.

thankfully we have 2 more days of rest again for Doughty.

I agree Greene looked pretty bad out there. But I think Sutter goes with him again in GM3.

Angels Crowd

Unfortunately had to miss the game on TV due to family being in town and was stuck at an Angels game last night while the Kings made their amazing comeback.

They posted the final score on the main board at Anaheim Stadium and the crowd gasped and cheered, and then some booing settled in. Some real mixed reactions. The Anaheim Stadium scoreboard commandos seemed okay with the Kings about it because they found a guy wearing an Angels jersey and a Kings hat and put him up on the board.

Overall it was a cool moment, a lot of people in Angels gear were clapping and cheering for the Kings. :)

DD's TOI was consistent across all three periods for the most part. MG's increased period after period. a sign of concern is that Greene has been used as PK specialist, but he wasn't used that much last night. those minutes are shifting to others now and i think it is due to Matt being unable to match speed and coverage while shorthanded

Muzzin is starting to see more PK time. Huge shot block on the 5-3.

Yeah noticed this!

Cheers for Muzzin, guy has taken a major step forward. I didn't think he had it in him to elevate his game when it looked like his biggest weakness was between the ears.

That game 1 pinch was the aberration instead of the norm AND was made in the name of aggressiveness. This guy is a long way from the dude pitching centering passes to the Blues when he hears footsteps.

I don't want Greene playing next game. Nor do I want some kid who hasn't played a single NHL game let alone a game in the WCF. Put Schultz back in.

I don't know if it looked as bad on tv, but Schultz was a disaster in game 1 but I thought he looked really good in the Ducks series. I would also support Schultz going back in, but I do think we can get away with Greene on home ice a bit easier. As long as we don't continue to exchange rushes while killing a penalty I think the damage can be mitigated.

Even if Kopitar goes pointless this series but nullifies Toews' line, I think we can win this. Carter & Sons have been electric the last couple games, and Richards and Williams are just lying in the weeds, poised to strike. Our forward depth really took this game over.

Also, what a smooth move that was from Sutter, throwing Richards, Williams and King together. That really helped get us going! Watching Williams and Richards almost simultaneously shift gears in the late second was cool.

Okay, this is the best morning of mine in a while. Woke up 4am, 0-2. Back to sleep. Got out of bed 7am. Check the score. 6-2. Still can't believe what I see.

Oh and Carter scores only in blowouts

Is it just my perception.. Or does Carter's output create most of the blowouts he scores in?

Carter and Sons.. What a line name! Too bad the 70's line is gonna stick!
