But seriously where is this goal scoring during the regular season

If they save their goals for the playoffs, I'm just fine with their regular season struggles. Don't question it now, worked in 2012, their offense was actually fine in 2013 but came up flat in the playoffs, and this year it was like 2012 again, adding a sniper at the deadline and the offense coming to life at the right time. Hopefully we get the same result as that year.

Here's a dumb question......

If Kopitar's line is being used as the counter for the Toews line, with Kopitar basically shadowing Toews, isn't Gaborik being wasted on that line? I'd say put Lewis there instead and maybe put Gaborik with Richards...... Just a thought.......

Kopitar can't shut down three dudes on his own. Trevor Lewis would get eaten alive by Hossa, Kane, Sharp or whoever else is out there with captain intangibles. Other skilled players are required to keep the other team honest.

Sutter is the best coach ever man, seriously......

Reporters asked Drew what Sutter said in the second intermission.

Doughty on Sutter:

"I’m trying to think, second period. I don’t think he said too much, just because when Darryl doesn’t come in and say too much, that means he’s mad at us. That tells us we’re not playing well and we need to do something about it. If he’s just staring at us in the room and making little comments like ‘Oh, Toews is the best player in the world’ or things like that, then we know he’s not happy and we need to do something about it". (Doughty)

Sutter with that sarcastic comment about Toews LOL, Classic Sutter.

im imagining how awkward it was to be in there and i cannot stop laughing at this :laugh::laugh:

Pearson has such great vision out there, and jesus can he get Toffoli the puck in the slot.

Handzus has two points and is a -5 on THAT team in the playoffs. The Hawks would be insane with a halfway decent second line center

It's sad to think that Charlie Chaplin currently has better foot speed than Greene.

From the Royal Half:

“You know, if you lose this game you are that much closer to having to play in the World Championships.†- Darryl Sutter in between 1st/2nd

After 2 games, I'm ecstatic to be going back home tied 1-1.

Game 1: probably win a series with that effort and compete level through all seven games.
Game 2: definitely stole won.

Funny how that works.

I don't want Greene playing next game. Nor do I want some kid who hasn't played a single NHL game let alone a game in the WCF. Put Schultz back in.

I ****ing love Sutter. Hahaha

Saw the game from BJs in Irvine. A few Kings fans showed up for the game.

Good to see LA skating with more life. They just weren't themselves in game 1 (jetlag + no rest). Love the split in Chicago. Should be tough but this team is beatable. Quite a few holes in their D and Handzus looked slow. Quite a few weaknesses to blow through on their side. They looked very inconsistent. With our offense, I think we have this in six. Maybe five now that we're on an even playing field.

Lot of respect for them but when LA starts rolling in the playoffs, we're tough to beat. Lots of injuries last year... this year, no excuses.

Wait what?

I too felt like I'd rather see Schultz in. Not sure if I'm comfortable telling people.

I don't know if it looked as bad on tv, but Schultz was a disaster in game 1 but I thought he looked really good in the Ducks series. Watching tonight I thought Greene was the worst player on the ice for the Kings but I suspect Sutter sticks with the same lineup because they won and being on home ice he can more shelter Greene's minutes.

Our lives would be a lot easier if RR were able to get healthy.

Apparently this was the first time ever that the Blackhawks have given up 5 in the 3rd in their playoff history.

Carter tied an NHL record(set a Kings record) for most points in the 3rd period for the playoffs with 3g 1a. Carter also tied a Kings record for most goals scored in the 3rd in a playoff game. :)

I like to send some props to Muzzin. The dude played a better game than Doughty on game 2.

Woohoo! While I think the Kings played a better game in game 1 it's nice to see they can turn things around against the Hawks too. Hopefully they can solidify their play on home ice and take control of the series.
