Big Game Story: Western Conference Final’s Round #3, Game #1 – ‘The REMATCH’ The past two Stanley Cup champions will meet in the Western Conference Final for the second consecutive season. The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Los Angeles Kings in five games in the conference final in 2013. The Los Angeles Kings rallied from a deficit for the second straight series and claimed bragging rights in California by knocking out the San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks to get to this point. The Ducks went ahead of the Kings 3-2 before a close victory in Game 6 and a devastating performance in Game 7 left no doubt. The Kings have been streaky in this postseason, losing three to start against the Sharks before winning six in a row then losing three straight again. They're now on a two-game run. During the regular season, Los Angeles had five winning streaks of five games or more, but six losing streaks that lasted at least three games. Last season, the Kings limped into this round against the Blackhawks fresh off a brutal seven-game series with the Sharks. Los Angeles has two key injuries, but overall it might be healthier and more equipped to challenge the defending champs. Just as Los Angeles did last season, the Chicago Blackhawks lost the first two games to the St. Louis Blues in the opening round before knocking them out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Chicago received a much tougher test from the Minnesota Wild in the second round than most pundits expected, but the Blackhawks prevailed in six games and have had a few extra days to rest. Chicago won the Presidents' Trophy last season en route to a second title in four years. The Blackhawks were not as dominant during the regular season, but like the Kings, there are a lot of players with championship pedigree on the roster. GO KINGS GO !!!

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Like I said for Game 7, I hope Kopi really brings it again! Start out strong! Hoping for a split in the first two games, take off some of the presure for home games.

12 pm game right off the bat, yikes. Hopefully they are ready to go out the gate. GO KINGS!

The league is screwing us again but at least this time we get two full days rest before an evening game on Wednesday.

We got to win all our home games. That's it. We are not going to take three in Chicago (this ain't ANA, folks), maybe even two is a stretch...therefore we gotta to win all our home games this time around, period.

My four month old's first diaper of the day has Cookie Monster on it. I take it as a good omen.

My team, please win, etc...

Especially as I just bought a new TV to replace the one that is slowing dying on our back patio... I'd hate to have the first thing I watch on it be a travesty.

NBC changes it up for the West Finals this year.

Last year: Dave Strader / Darren Pang Color / Brian Engblom Inside the Glass
This year: Kenny Albert / Joe Micheletti Color / Brian Engblom Inside the Glass

In Canada, games 1, 2 and 4 on TSN with Cuthbert and Ferraro (game 4 will be TSN's last national NHL telecast for at least the next 12 years as the new Canadian TV contract with Sportsnet kicks in starting next year). Games 3 and 5-7 on CBC with Bob Cole, Garry Galley doing Color and Cassie Campbell-Pascall sideline Reporter.

Prefer Strader to Albert, but at least it's not Emerick. Would take a screech owl over that guy.

Hi guys! I'm in the future and its glorious. Spoiler alert: Kings win!

That's what everyone said against San Jose and for good reason but look how that worked out. If the Kings win this series, they'll probably do it in a way nobody expects. Maybe they'll sweep them? :sarcasm: I've come to expect the unexpected with this group. I hope they show up today. It would be nice to get a win in the first game.

It's really lame how this round started so quickly for us.

That's what happens when you play 7 games.

ok, continuing my posting before the game - please please win this first one. wife and i are going over to some friends' house who root with us all year long for the kings, but they are really Blackhawks fans so today will be a little different. definitely gonna be sporting our kings jerseys.

Willie Mitchell apparently taking the warm-up today and will be a game-time decision!

Good news, but please don't rush back prematurely Willie, we can hold the fort for one more game!
