At least it opens up to about 10 to 12 teams that are playoff bound. Davidson needs to sit back and wait for the best offer. Competition amongst interested teams is good and any team that wants him bad enough will ante up.

don't think Jones will waive for every playoff team. if a deal is done, the haul here is unloading Jones (which was largely a pipe dream a short time ago). sure, they'll get a late 1st + prospects/later picks, but still its all about unloading Jones

We’d need to sign both to meaty contracts. Altho my strategy has always been to sign Rantanen or Marner to a 1 year or 2 year 20 million per year contract. Just be toxic.

Marner and Rantanen will be looking for 7 year contracts.

It makes more sense to do big short-term contracts for guys around 35 that are still playing at a high level.

Ever since Heiskanen went down I thought "maybe?" That's a huge loss.

But it seems Seth's camp feels the need to get the ball rolling and I'm not sure how to interpret that but gut feeling says the phones haven't been ringing all that much. Really hoping this stretch of recent positive play had things on the upswing.

Another solution would be to get an LTIR guy like Landeskog. There are negatives to doing that long term.

You would have thought that Jones would have brought it against his ex team and continue on his recent streak of solid play. Nope. Back to sleepwalking. Besides killing the first powerplay unit, he finished w 1 shot, 0 blocks, 0 hits, 0 takeaways, and 3 giveaways and was a suprisingly only -1.

I really thought he was going to continue to bring it but looks like the shock of being boo'd has worn off and he is back to the same old Seth.

I would say take him off the first power play but the short term goal is to trade him so I guess we are stuck w him on that unit.

he!! no. Taking Dumba I want the equivalent of 2 (late) 1sts for Jones....Hemming and the '26 1st. With the cap going up rapidly, the contract will quickly become a non factor and you are left with a 25 minute a game RHD that produces 40-50 points on a reasonaale deal in 2 Summers and losing Dumba's money gets you there.

No thanks....I am waiting for the Summer where it is way easier to make the money work for more teams. A late 2nd plus Dumba doesn't even begin a conversation at this point.
