first, Mack isnt some money hungry guy

second, gotta give credit to sakic. he realized his core of ROR, Duchene, Mack, Barrie, etc.. wasnt working so he took a couple steps back, retooled and got back at it.

meanwhile he grabbed: Makar, Girard, Byram, Rantanen during the retool. And traded deadbeats like barrie+kerfoot for Kadri and Toews for 2nd rounders That is some solid GM prowess.
Isn't MacFarland the main guy for that stuff? I thought he was their top guy at telling Sakic who to grab.

Objectively the Avalanche are the better team, both in terms of individual personnel across the board, and playing as a team. Their commitment to team defense is really impressive, everyone gives their all and sacrifices their body for the goal they've all clearly bought into. Bednar has done an absolutely amazing job with this team.

Complain about refs or not, calls and missed calls go both ways. Every fanbase will have cause for complaint after every game. To say the Avs need the refs help to win is just objectively false. In fact, the Avs PP is so bad that it's almost a detriment. What is statistically factual is that the Avs are a dominant 5v5 team and do not need any help from the referees to put pucks in the net. They have shut the Edmonton team down on a nightly basis after that crazy game 1. Remember, in game 2 Edmonton had ZERO scoring chances in the third period when they were trailing. Zero. That's phenomenal commitment by the Avs.

If you're focusing on the refs, you're looking in the wrong place for blame. But, that's psychologically the easiest thing to do when your team loses. Avs are deservedly on the cusp of clinching this series, and no amount of different refereeing would change what the team is doing as a whole. Even tonight on the Edmonton PP, the Avs were the ones with several odd-man rush opportunities. So, if the referees are to blame and the only reason the Avs are leading in the series, why is it that the when Edmonton are on the PP they are being suffocated?
''If you're focusing on the refs,'' that would be you.

“We don’t get called for our dirty shit” is not the own you think it is. Your team is only as tough as the league and officials allow them to be, but fold like a cheap camping chair when breathed on (see: Kadri).
A cheap camping chair from Canadian Tire?

Tell Woodcroft if there's any more on sale. Cheap camping chairs play better D than half his blue line.

Just watched the GWG again. Imagine being bodied by Compher like that?
Compher channeling his inner Chris Drury with that #37. He’s been clutch with some pretty big goals in these playoffs.

Just glad EK91 won’t get anywhere near the Stanley Cup!!!!! What a POS he is.

Oilers were better in game 3, it didn’t show up on the scoreboard but they were clearly playing for their playoff lives. Obviously Colorado playing without Kadri helped a lot too though.

If this series was only 2-0 I would say there’s a chance but 3-0 is too tough to overcome. The Avs are definitely better than the Oilers but they are now missing two top 6 forwards, a top 4 defenceman, and their starting goalie.

With those pieces missing these teams are much closer in talent than they otherwise would be. 4 games in a row with Smith in net and Nurse playing D is just unlikely however.

The MacK slewfoot was not deserved, I guess. The Avs repeatedly "accidentally" bumping Smith, or throwing Ceci into him were also, I guess, not deserved. Bumping the goalie every other play is clean playoffs hockey.. Some clear interference/trips on McD which were more obvious IMO than the RHN holding the stick call.

But no, besides two clear tripping penalties the AVS were very clean.
So you are complaining about non-calls rather than the penalties that were called. OK.

Disagree about the alleged "slewfoot".
Maybe a goalie interference could have been called but would have to watch replays again. None were agregious IMO.
I think there are likely as many non called interferences on McKinnon and Rantanen as McD.
The RNH stick hold was blatant
