The Avs are outclassing the Oilers, clearly, but the difference in this game was a post at one end to spring a guy coming out of the box at the other end. The rhetoric needs to be tempered just a tad.
Which of the penalties today were unwarranted? All 4 were blatant and obvious calls IMO.Avs are just a better built team than the Oilers and played better. Refs are cringe with the exorbitant amount of PPs they gave the Avs this series but it's not why the team is losing. The team is losing b/c Ken Holland built a dog shit defense despite literally everyone knowing that was the Oilers issue for years and placing all his chips in on a 40 year old goalie.
Nurse is 27 and his contract stats next season. Yikes!Ken Holland should be fired for the Darnell Nurse contract alone
Gonna see this on Monday. The Av's are just THAT GOOD! Sweep em up...
Oilers would have lost to the preds if they played them.
Weakest opponent the avs had played this year by far.
It is amazing that with the talent the Avs have they still need the refs to push them to beat the Oilers...
And I know, fans always complain about the refs, but I've never been frustrated by the refs like in this series....
Smith's miracle saves are often the result of Smith getting out of position, and the Avs played with precisely the same number of forwards that the Oilers did. I said in my post that the Avs are clearly outclassing the Oilers. But a post at one end to a breakaway goal at the other was the difference in who won or lost, so the people ready to launch themselves off a bridge over how much the Oilers are a disgrace to the game of hockey maybe need to dial it back a touch.Did you miss the SOG difference and all the miracle saves by Smith, or the injury to Kadri having the Avs play shorthanded the whole game?
Really? Which penalties today were not deserved? It is amazing that with the talent the Avs have they still need the refs to push them to beat the Oilers...

You think Mackinnon left 5m on the table? The guy who purposely left 5m on the table so his team could build a winner is winning.
It’s not just Mackinnons 5m, it’s everyone else on the team that needs to fall in behind his contract
See Tampa, Florida, Penguins
The guy who left no money on the table and produced a Nurse 9.5 million contract is getting what he deserves.
I’d have one of those fancy paintings of my agent hanging above my mansion fireplace if I were himNurse is 27 and his contract stats next season. Yikes!
They'll need better than McGhost -- 2 goals in 3 games in a conference championship is something far short of "generational".The Oilers just need a couple more #1 draft picks and they'll be primed for a cup run.
They would have to beat Shestyorkin in 4 straight. Impossible.Colorado is 5 straight wins away from matching the 80's Oilers. 16-2 in PO.
Yeah 2 games have been 1 goal games. This isn’t domination. Avs are clearly better but it’s not the landslide you’d think it was by reading HF mains.Smith's miracle saves are often the result of Smith getting out of position, and the Avs played with precisely the same number of forwards that the Oilers did. I said in my post that the Avs are clearly outclassing the Oilers. Focus on tampa first. Get that stranglehold before you plan the parade, buddy. They would have to beat Shestyorkin in 4 straight. Impossible.
The Oilers PK was also effective. The difference really was the Avalanche power play being ineffective. The shots and play were fairly heavily in Colorado’s favour. But I’d agree it was the closest match of the series.
Yet they just smoked the Pacific division champs without even breaking a sweat.
Both MacK and the Avs said he took a discount when he signed his current contract. Everyone, even Avs fans thought he'd be making 1 million more than he is now.You think Mackinnon left 5m on the table?
No, he signed a contract for what he was worth at the time.
