I think point was money last year in their run. Am I supposed to care what other people think of my opinion?do I lose fan points for this?
I actually think you’re handling it just fine. As crazy as it seems , cause in no way does point make the oilers better, I can see if I’m the lightning he may be a better fit when you have all the pieces

Saw the game and thought that the Avs got away with several penalties........that doesnt mean the Oilers would win, but does make a difference (I have no favorite in this one)......

Very true. Meanwhile the Oilers got away with no penalties. If the Oilers got away with several penalties like the Avs, might have been 4-0 the other way

This series isn't over by a long shot, but if the Oilers want to get back into it they're gonna have to take advantage of home matchups and not start running around if they're down. Guys like Kane trying to "send a message" is a good way to find yourself down against a team like the Avs. Obviously I want the Avs to finish this ASAP but the Oilers do have the ability to come back in this series.

I’m insinuating that the last time someone won the cup with a 1C of McDavid’s kind was in the 80s.

I would not choose McDavid if I’m building a team to win the cup in playoff hockey. He’s just not even in the discussion for the top spot.

MAYBE if there is a league wide change to reffing. Where they call every little hook and grab like in the regular season. Maybe then
It's official. This is the most ridiculous post I've read on hfboards.

Absolutely wild.

McDavid doesn't need to be sheltered at home or get away from Makar lol. Are people forgetting he had 3 points last game, on the road? Makar was on the ice for 2 of the goals against.

Makar has been excellent though, best player on the Avalanche this series and overall these playoffs. I've been incredibly impressed with Bowen Byram too, absolutely love his game.
How'd McDavid do tonight? I didn't watch

You know the Avs haven’t lost on the road these playoffs right

I know what Edmonton is trying to do with the end of game penalties.

But the Avs have played 12 games in these playoffs now and 3 different teams. And every team has tried to get them involved in scrums, after whistle stuff, and the Avs simply aren’t biting. They skate away from all the post-whistle activity.

They’re clearly all on the same page with this. They have no interest with that stuff.

Manson was a perfect example. Kane hits him, brings him down, crosschecks him, and Manson completely skates away. Doesn’t even talk to Kane.

You might get them to bite if they’re losing. But at that point, if you’re in the lead, why would you want to and risk taking penalties.

Lol conveniently ignoring the fact that 4 of them were from his team gooning it up after the game was out of reach.

Woodcroft is so far in over his head. He's riding two all time and unsustainable playoff runs to the Western Finals. They are giving up 70% of the chances in the series, and their starting goalie is Mike Smith. Add in that they are undisciplined, have no defensive structure, no transition game, no forecheck... and he's talking about the refs? This series is over.

Oilers should learn from the Avs and Blues. At least the Blues were understandably emotional (but not right) about Kadri in running around going for him and pulling off dirty shit… and put themselves down further.

Or the Avs, staying class and just playing hockey, not responding to the dirt and just playing. You hand the Avs some free powerplays and they’ll feed on your frustration. Just play.

No, I didn’t see that. In any case it’s not like Drai and Smith haven’t been known to flop.

But compared to the Oilers today and the game 4 Blues? Yea, the Avs were there with infinitely more class not engaging in every little scrum, getting sucked into the kind of shit either other team wanted. They’re playing in 2022 and it’s working.

Drai is well known to slash, crosscheck, spear/nut shot and dive when things aren’t going his teams way. He could have gotten 4 stick infractions in the second period alone if not for game management. TNT showed perfect close ups of each, pretty blatant and he’s done this in the past.

Game 5 against the Kings with that small Kings rookie, and tonight with Byram: Kassian is known to mug players half his age and size, and got a washed penalty for said game management.

Nurse with the head but and taking an unsuspecting players feet out from under him in the Kings series, and more fun tonight.

Kane going high, and Kane going high.

All of that and the Avs just kept playing hockey. They could have gotten sucked into the bullshit and taken more penalties, but they kept playing and scored a PP goal off one of them. Yea Edmonton got outclassed in every sense tonight.
