I can say for a fact that I would not like it if my team signed a player accused of assaulting multiple women offering to pay for an ex girlfriend's abortion and then reneging.
Unless he proves to be just the player your team lacks and takes it to conference finals .

Everything is forgotten if you are behaving and having success .. see Patrick Kane and Kadri

Yes. That has nothing to do with McDavid “needing to be sheltered”.

That’s just having a poorly constructed team and blaming any loss on McDavid because he doesn’t get 3 pts a game is lunacy
Sheltered is a bad word.

McDavid needs to be supplemented. He’s not a grinder, despite how much Oilers fans want him to be the best at everything. He’s not Sid. He’s not Toews. That isn’t his game.

McDavid needs people on his line to retrieve pucks. It’s just the reality of things. The “McDavid is a perfect player” stuff is too much.

I might relieve myself from talking about it. It’s just so silly.

He has taken off Smith's mask and gloves so far this series ..
He is a skilled Kassian.. dirty little prick is the definition of Kadri.

Taking off a goalies mask is a disadvantage to an attacking team, and I don’t buy that he can take a glove off a goalie intentionally. That’s not exactly something you practice. I’m pretty sure he hit the puck before he even hit smiths glove.

He plays on the edge. Crosses the line sometimes, but he gets vilified for things that would be entirely disregarded if it was someone else.

I said it previously, but there's no award for winning 2 games in a series. Colorado looked like the vastly superior team tonight, but they still have to win 2 more games. A lot of gloating going on in here for a series that's probably not even half over yet.
Winning 4 of the next 5 with Mike Garbageman Smith in net?

This gets a "come on man"

I don't understand how people say "You're not in trouble until you lose at home"

Yeah, maybe if you're the home team. Boston lost 0 games at home this playoffs and got eliminated in the first round. How are they not in trouble?

THANK YOU!!! Worst saying ever.

Fans saying its going to be different in Edmonton because McDavid can get away from Makar are the ones implying he needs to be sheltered not me.

Having Makar, Toews, and Byram is just unfair.

Their skating, skill, and smarts just consistently blows me away. I doubt McDavid's going to remain off the scoreboard for long, but if there's any D-group that can shut him down it's that one.
Also remember that Girard is injured but is another extremely skilled transition defenceman.

The next 4 up are EJ, Manson, Murray, and JJ. All of whom except for JJ are capable of 20 points. There’s a legitimate case for it being the most transition focused d group of all time. Any of Makar, Toews, Byram, or Girard could be the main offensive defenceman on a bunch of other teams.

I can’t even think of a team in history that is built similarly, most really good teams based on defenceman like the late 2000 Ducks or the mid 2010 Preds are more focused on dzone play or two way play rather than pure transition like the Avs are.

Oilers got to he better next game or this series is over. I like the was they looked in the first but then they stopped playing for the rest of the game. Effort just didn't feel like it was there. Colorado is probably one of if not the best team in the legit gonna win games against them with that kind of performance. Just completely outclassed

You want to know the difference between the Avs and the Oilers?

The Avalanche trade 2 2nds for Devon Toews.
The Oilers trade 2 2nds for a few games of Andreas Athanasiou.
Indeed sometimes you gotta gamble I thought the Manson (Helleson + 2nd) and Lehk (Barron + 2nd) trades were steep but damn they've been great. I thought trading our two best defensive prospect was a bad idea back then. Glad I'm no GM.

Please do. You’re starting to really embarrass yourself
You guys claiming fantasies that “McDavid can grind in a corner better than Sid” is embarrassing.

I will not succumb to hivemind nonsense. This “McDavid cannot be criticized” crap is stupid. It’s only teenagers. No rational adult could act like the people on this forum.

Sid grinds in corners. That’s his game. McDavid is an open ice player. Both have strengths and weaknesses.

The embarrassing thing is that the second you mention the weaknesses in McDavid’s game, oily teenagers get riled up and dogpile on you.

You’re the embarrassment

Cool. So youd also take Point over McDavid? You think the Oilers would be better off these playoffs if they were switched?
McDavid has picked up on his defense and his physicality from the little I’ve seen. But yes I think I would. Just my opionon don’t let it ruin your day and get to worked up about it

How the %$#@ could Makar be the 9th rated NA skater in the 2017 NHL draft?

Did all the scouts have failed Lasix surgery or something?
Probably because he played in the AJHL and they doubted his ability to do it at higher levels/looking better than it was due to the competition level.

Fortunately they were dead wrong. He's the 2nd best skater in the league behind the guy that he's been shutting down through 2 games.

And 5'11"
