I said it in the GDT, they play up or down to the level of their opponent. Two squeaker series against the top 2 playoff teams in the west where they looked great. Now against a weaker team they look worse despite still getting the job done so far

Dallas just refuses to play in the 1st period, it’s like they are letting Edmonton tire themselves out

Stars came out flat and Oilers dominated the first getting up 2-0 pretty quickly and could have had more. Reverse happened and Oilers didn't get a shot in the 2nd for 13 minutes or so and over that time Dallas got 3 goals on 15 shots or so. Last bit of 2nd settled down and Oilers managed to tie it up. Third was even. Skinner came up with some big saves and then let in a weak goal where he should of had the post completely shut off but let just enough space for Robertson to shovel one in for a hattrick. Empty netter after that and Bob's your uncle.

You just got Dallas'ed. They've done this all season long to basically everyone. On any given night one player is going to be hot. It's almost never the same player game to game, but someone is going to dominate and carry the Stars. Several others are going to contribute at least one good shift that results in a goal and 2nd half Otter is going to stand up, even though he's probably not fantastic.

Dallas can and has shot itself in the foot or just flat out been unlucky at times but the depth, the belief, and coaching carries them through. Edmonton is just a different version of the same thing Vegas and Colorado presented and they're just not good enough.

Oilers are a Adam Larsson, Jusse Saros away from a cup

Nurse should be Larsson he would be an elite #3D behind Bouchard and Ekholm

Campbell should not be here and instead be a good top 10 goalie like Saros

Those two moves have screwed the oilers despite an all time legandary duo + bouchard and hyman

Dallas is going to the finals and likely winning the cup. The Oilers are lucky not to be down 3-0 in the series if it wasnt for a fluke OT goal in Game 1.

Now for the first time this playoffs the Oilers are playing a healthy team.

Hintz was back but needed the first period to get his playoff timing back. Then he took over the game setting up Robertson twice. The Oilers couldn’t get through the Stars defense as the game went along, just like in game two.

Imagine a coach that actually chooses to play Cody Ceci 19 minutes of 5v5 time. The most on the team Almost a full two more minutes than nurse which is equally as bad
