White was playing well in WBS. He had the same points as Puustinen while playing in all situations.

Hinostroza can play in all situations and is a much better player than white right now. Sullivan didn't like his game though. Big Z was struggling but even he looked better than white.

White like Harkins is just there. Neither are getting chances based on merit or play.

He can, just not well. Hinostroza is 3x better than White and can play all 4 lines as needed. It's too bad Sully hates him for whatever reason. White didn't deserve the call up.
Because he's not from Boston.

Acciari (close enough), Shea, and White are his brethren.

I hadn’t noticed Colin White in the AHL. I think he’s up because of his experience rather than his AHL play. Which is fine I guess, that’s a factor.
It's a factor if your team is lacking in experience. This, being the oldest bunch of wankers in the league, isn't a team where that's as dire of a need. If anything a lack of nhl experience goes in this teams favor as they're not brainwashed Sully drones.

Poulin, etc would bring something else to this roster as they're not 300 deep into the league as failures. They're barely 30 games of experience. To even throw White above Puustinen is ridiculous when we've seen he can handle both ends and be productive in a top 6 role.

Also while this amazing ability to play all positions is super important, all 4 centres are healthy, all the left wingers are too outside of Smith. The right side is not lacking either so they have a right handed forward throwing someone off wing while we have a young left handed shot in the Ahl that has been playing solid hockey for 2 months, apparently not seen as any sort of option.

That isn't right no matter what experience White has. The Pens are also not lacking in playoff experience so White and his experience mean jack shit to a veteran squad. A fresh pair of legs with the hunger to prove something to get games under their belt brings more to this roster than Harkins and White ever will.

Puustinen & Shea are back down. Puustinen has no points in the 3 games but he’s been quite noticeable all over the ice. I think they told him to use his speed everywhere all the time and never pass up a shot and that’s what he’s doing.

3-1 win tonight with Blomqvist in net. Poulin assisted on a Koppanen shorty and Gruden had a nice effort on an ENer. Johnstone took a cheap crosscheck into the boards and looked like an arm or shoulder injury.

Poulin was banged up late with 2 minutes left, didn’t play after that but don’t think he left the bench. Just a collision of some type away from the play.

Gruden’s been consistently landing 1 really big hit per game in addition to just normal checks which would be great for us.

Coulda swore Puustinen had an assist on the late game tying goal against Hartford.

He did:

Pens are looking for scoring on the bottom 6. None of these callups can bring that. Poulin has the pedigree to score. I think the big RW is a waste of time as his overall game just is not very good. But I do give him a look since he does possess a very good shot. The only way the Pens sneak in is PP gets much better and bottom 6 can bring needed size and scoring to the mix. NO more speedy runts who can't make a dent in anything.

He's very rarely played RW since he was traded to Val d'Or. And his overall game is fine. Not sure what you're talking about.

WBS is back from the AHL All-Star Break...and Sam Poulin is not in the lineup. Hope it's because he's being recalled.

So much for that hope.

Per multiple folks, Poulin is injured. Day to day.

I have to admit, his injury history is starting to be a concern. He's missed multiple stretches of games, even setting aside his absence for mental health.

I saw an interview with Dubas within the past week. He said that three players stood out for him with WBS. The players were Poulin, Blomquist and St. Ivany.
St Ivan but not Ty Smith who has 3x the points. -8 vs +8 but still ridiculous statement

St. Ivany has provided some offense but also been excellent in the defensive zone by all accounts.

Smith is all offense and apparently a tire fire in his own zone.

For a team tied for 2nd to last in Goals for in the conference, I'll take the scoring.

They’re all trying to play the Sullivan way, so that fits…they’ll fit right in when they get called up to the big club and can’t finish either lol

Poulin is DTD with LBI from that collision late in their last game. My concern was head so not good news but not the worst possible news.

St. Ivany has impressed me this season. He looked kinda bad at times last season, but then again there’s also been a significant improvement in the team as a whole. I’ve mentioned this but he looked really raw last year, like he was a forward they’re trying to convert to D. Bad routes, poor body position on guys, too upright. Definitely simplified this season and using his size a lot. He’s good for a big hit every game.
