It’s so weird how that (along Is This It) is the album cover I most associate with early 2000s NYC. The woman on the left is Leigh Lezark, who was one of the people behind a super trendy DJ act in the Village.
It’s begun and it’s already a journey
There's a documentary of that out done in the past few years I think. Saw part of it.Have you ever read "Meet Me In The Bathroom"? I read it a few years ago and liked it a lot. It made me really like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs even more than I already did.

Had no idea that the cover had a somebody. The album is regarded by most as their best album, they did a 10 year anniversary tour for it.It’s so weird how that (along Is This It) is the album cover I most associate with early 2000s NYC. I remember MMR doing their greatest album tournament and it was Pink Floyd vs. Pink Floyd at the end, and Preston said it would be from the start.Well.......I am now up to knowing 1/2 of the groups and singers since this morning songs.
It looks like in the 11th hour this morning, WXPN will be playing the Go-Gos, one of my favs of all time.
Who remembers on 93.3/ 94.1 FM playing in the mid 70s their version of greatest hits of all time, and it was ALWAYS Stairway to Heaven???? I am sure in North America any FM station around that time proclaimed the same.
Can someone give me a synopsis of what list is going on here?
Gonna start picking up on Carole King and the Tapestry album now.
It's definitely more than I need, I just know she's highly revered by the audience. You go back to her time, there wasn't a lot of women who weren't in soul/R&B or radio machinations. That's been my moms favorite album since I was a kid.
There's been far too much Joni Mitchell. Am I the only one that feels like she is incredibly overrated?
Getting some songs this hour or so that I didn't expect to hear yet.
boygenius getting some recency bias.

They are good, though. Like @Rebels57 said about Phoebe Bridgers' solo stuff, all the songs are too same-same and slow/quiet.
You are not. Hippies suck. Go weave a parka and eat your granola, Joni.
There were plenty of women in Motown, though, more than enough to keep us from listening to songs about f***ing taxis.
It’s not that I disagree with everyone’s tastes because she’s not for me. But I always looked at not being able to appreciate Joni Mitchell as my biggest personal musical failing. She’s one of the best lyricists ever.
Not liking her and not thinking she’s talented can’t be the same discussion. I loathe everything Stevie Nicks as ever done, but I know she’s talented.
My #7 song comes off the board at #160. It's "These Are Days" by 10,000 Maniacs
Holy Shit, "Wonder" by Natalie Merchant is #159
I think that is why Fleetwood Mac worked so well. You had the gravel of Stevie, Lindsay the middle voice and then the songbird of Christie. It’s not that I disagree with everyone’s tastes because she’s not for me.
