TSN 1290 who covers the Jets normally were talking about this series this morning and they said that it would be tough for us to keep Ovie off the scoreboard 2 games in a row. Then the one guy said "so that's Ovie for the Caps, do you think they have any answer for Brassard?" The other guy laughed and then realized that the first guy was serious.

Nice to hear of an antidote to the regular crap we hear. The lamestream sports media are mostly a bunch of follower/chasers. They really do not have a ****ing clue.

You don't want to count your chickens before they hatch, especially when it comes to defenseman, and young ones, at that. Moore has been very good thus far, but we're 20 games in. Obviously, I really like what I've seen from him, and he's looked very promising thus far, but let's not forget how MDZ looked in 11-12 and throughout the middle of '13 — he was excellent. Over the past few weeks, he's hit a rough patch. I thought he was also one of our better defenseman in the playoffs last season.

MDZ is still only 23 years old, he is very young. Clearly, the talent is there, and it's not like he's giving us more bad than good.

If MDZ is traded, I would not be surprised at all to see him flourish on another team.

I'm not saying to push a trade involving Del Zotto. I think his value is far higher than Moore's. If Moore can continue to do well on the power play and be a solid 3rd/4th pairing d-man, I'm okay with that. Del Zotto can bring in a high pick and a prospect or solid player (no superstar obviously), in my opinion. Can Moore? I don't think so. But I believe the option is open. It's not like we lack defensemen in the farm.

At the end of the day, I don't want Del Zotto traded because of his potential, his age and his improvements defensively.

Wow. Refs threw the puck to the Rangers because Toronto and the league are trying to make it so easy for us to win. That's what I saw from Washington fans...no comment

Torts deserves a ton of credit (that he's not getting) for getting out the right lineups to shut down Ovechkin. Putting Nash/Hags-Step-Cally, easily our best forechecking line, out there against the OV line every time, forced OV to play in his own end.

#8 can't score if the puck is in his end, and almost any time he was on the ice, the puck was in his end.

Cally and Step may have only put up a point each, but their impact on this game was HUGE

He does. However, his decision to ride Richards and take more off the PP on the 5 on 3 was idiotic.

To not have Moore on the power play to start was stupid, but Richards needs to play. I don't think Brassard and Hagelin are going to keep this up. Our secondary scoring has been the x-factor. How long is it going to last? We're going to need our biggest guns to start taking over if we want to continue to win and lighten the load for Hank. Richards needs the time. A lot will disagree, but I think that's what needs to happen.

Give 'em time, guys. Washington fans only started watching hockey in 2005.

Still have to figure out how faceoffs work.

I am so pleasantly surprised by Brassard. It's not like I had not heard of him, or his promise, but seeing him work hard every game since he arrived, combined with some of that stuff you can't teach, makes me even happier about the trade.
