Think we'll 100% see Blais next game. Gauthier got really rocked, have to think he's in concussion protocol.

Kreider I don't know. He's gutted these out before and came back quick. I think it could be 2-3 games.

Rydahl up (no waivers). Time for Kakko to put the big boy pants on and produce, not just get chances. Same for Lafreniere. It'll be those two with Mika. Kravtsov stepping up to balance the lines would be huge.
If Kreider's out (and obviously I very much hope he's fine, b/c 20-93-24 has been pretty awesome):
13-93-24
10-72-74 (one can hope, since 10 and 16 have really not produced together all year at ES, but probably 10-16-74)
26-16-21
???-76-91 (unfortunately)

Might see Bobby Trivigno if they decide not to play Rydahl out of position since he's a C. Would rather leave Cuylle in the AHL for now than put him on the 4th.

Good win. Just when it seems like the lines are set Kreider looks like he’s going to be out for a while. I think Laf should take LW on Mika’s line. Move chytil up to play with bread, and have trocheck center goodrow and vesey. 4th line would be some combination of brodzinski/rydahl/blais/gettinger and hopefully won’t get much ice time.

Hopefully Kreider isn’t out long.

I agree. I don’t want Chytil surrounded by 2 defensive minded players with how he’s playing.

Foligno caught Kreider along the boards. Looks like it's a shoulder or clavicle.

Gauthier was double teamed by Reavo & that caveman who hacked Laffy on the dive. Possible concussion.
That guy who got Gaut’s head was the same prince who was going after Miller for no reason. I didn’t get to watch the game but watching the replay I’m fairly upset. There were a ton of dangerous plays - reckless at best and some looked pretty dirty - and the refs didn’t do anything, and the rangers didn’t fight back or make them pay on the scoreboard.

In his postgame Evason said that the reason the OT too many men ticked him off so much was cause early in the game the Rangers had 6 guys on the ice and the ref came over and said it had no impact on the play so they weren't gonna call it. I'd be rick'd too if I was Evason.

Meh. I get it, but I really don’t care. They also got away with a clear hook earlier in OT. maybe the refs just got tired of ‘they can’t call everything’ defense. They’re lucky to have gotten a point.

Kreider was seen walking around in the Rangers room after the game.

Kreider was walking around in the back of the locker-room complex post-game with no wrap on his left arm or shoulder, a hopeful sign that his late-game absence is only temporary.

Probably an unpopular opinion but think they should have tried Chytil in the 2C spot before they went out and signed Trocheck. It would still leave an open at 3C, but would be a cheaper fill.

Chytil is pacing for over 50 points, with little PP time, and bottom 6 role. Good stuff.
This was an unpopular opinion last year for sure. There were several of us that were begging people to pay attention to Chytil’s underlying numbers while we prayed he didn’t get moved for Eichel.

All in all though, you can’t complain about how things turned out as long as we don’t end up letting him walk for his next contract.

“Terrible” is a huge exaggeration. He posted 0.906 SV% and got the W.

If you look at the goals, the third one was obviously a blunder. First goal he was screened and the puck went post and in. Second goal was an absolute snipe by an elite shooter.

Far from terrible, but certainly not the best game for him
This is the internet, stop being so reasonable. Over reactions only.

Fox was a superstar tonight.
Reminded me of some great leetch games

Trouba is the worst player on the entire team....
Maybe Donnie knocked up a dog and has joint custody of the puppies. Donnie can’t breastfeed so Trouba has to give them the bottle every night.

12-2-2 since Chicago loss.

6-1 last 7 at MSG.
That’s why he’s Turk. His teams always do well after Thanksgiving.

I first posted this two years ago, don't even remember if it was here or somewhere else. Chytil always showed glimpses of what he's doing this year whenever he was in a scoring role. Even 3-4 years ago, whenever he'd play with Panarin for a stretch, it would be 4 points in 6 games kinda thing till he either got hurt or the lines were arbitrarily shuffled.

So I'll just say.

Yup.

Tro's a big upgrade over Strome, but that contract is gonna hurt.

I still think Strome was good here, but yeah Trocheck is an upgrade for sure. It’s better depth to have him and Chytil as 2C and 3C, rather than going Chytil and Goodrow.

Not sure what to make of the Goodrow contract. He‘s producing on 3rd line levels which is good, but he is not doing the little things we hope, and his defense is lacking?

Shesterkin thought he had the 3rd goal. Flashed his arm up and it was not still in the glove. Shit happens. I still take that over looking like a flopped whale in your crease.

I agree with you on the first goal.

The second was from a bad angle and wasn't a screen. Igor lost his angle and was moving like a zamboni headed off the ice. He has to be better there.

It’s popular now that we know this about chytil but remember how bad he was most of last year. There were legit concerns that his playoff performance was an aberration.

It’s easy to say this now with hindsight

I consider practically a crime for him to call it Russian style. Don't lump other countrymen into your jackass style of play.

He deferred twice tonight when he had good shooting opportunities. I hope he's getting coaching with this. Drives me nuts.

Said earlier, he got spooked after Fleury robbed and windmilled him on a rip of a low shot that he should've elevated higher.
