We played great. Should have won by at least 3 goals .
1OA Adam Fox was in beast mode and KAD not far behind. Good game from Chytil.
Kakko shoutout goal was hilarious. Pretty sure he was embarrassed that he scored with that fumble attempt.

I missed a few minutes.....what happened to Kreider ?

Kakko on like a three game pointless streak, he’s gotta end these droughts and get back on the scoreboard next game.

He played a great game tho... I agree on the overall pt but damn I think those pts will come (fingers all crossed and such)

I’ll tell you one thing, I’ve been called for shit I didn’t do both in hockey and in life, never has my response been to laugh. The typical response to a bad call is to get pissed off. It was not a good look.

I'll tell you another thing, I've been a high major DOBO and there are way more fouls called in that sport and I've seen a lot of guys laugh after disagreeing with a call and nobody on our team was offended. But when guys threw a fit at the refs and got T'd up it became an issue.

Just my two cents.

Can someone explain to me why our best shootout player and one of the best in the league in Panarin is not one of the top two shooters? There's a non-zero chance he won't even get a chance to go. I'm not a genius but this seems f***ing preposterous to me.

Because Panarin runs the show. I read a year or two ago he told the coaches he doesn’t like to go first. That’s why he never does.

My favorite Adam Fox play tonight was just skating straight up the gut and bombing away into Fleury's shoulder. Almost scored too.

If he starts doing that on the PP, that first unit is going to have a VERY different look and in a good way.

The good defensive teams cheat to cover the pass when defending against both Panarin and Fox, and it neutralizes having the extra skater. Minnesota had someone in, or less than two steps from, Zibanejad's one timer lane that whole OT PP except when Zib skated to the actual half wall.

A secondary look is needed.

While Fox had a great game all around he was FIRING howitzers all night...

That is NOT something we usually see from him.

I was not at all optimistic after they didn’t convert on so many golden chances they created in the first and ended up down 2. Nice comeback win. Fox was just ridiculous. Kakko in the first in particular was electric. Panarin’s SO goal was filthy.

Not sure how they manage to suck at 3 on 3 so much - they have the players to really do well at it

They have a really nasty habit of turning the puck over in the offensive zone with both forwards trapped.
They also have a really nasty habit of getting pinned in their own end when tired.
And they're weak on faceoffs.

All reasons they're not good in OT generally.

I went to the gym before the third and decided I would watch the rest of the game running on the treadmill. Of course, the game went as long as a regular season game could go but it was worth cause we won, I'll do anything for this team.

Sometimes the player requests it, either because they want to see what the goalie does with the previous shooters, maybe he's not feeling it at that moment, etc. In the shootout coaches often listen to their players. I've played in games with my beer league team where I'm jumping to be the first guy because I'm feeling it, and then there are other games where I just say to myself, stay as far away from the center ice dot as possible.
