Weird how no one is talking about him. He's so much more likeable than the superhyped Nylander and Fiala as well. Kid has all the tools.

I like Vrana a lot, but why is he so much more likeable? Not sure about Fiala, but Nylander seems like a good kid and is scoring at a very high pace for an 18 year old. He's really carrying his team and is way above PPG.

Hated the pick at the time, hopefully he can prove me wrong

Still wish the Caps choose Fabbri

Are you kidding me? Clearly you haven't seen him play much. And clearly you didn't watch the last u-18 tournament. His skating is incredible. One of the best in the draft in that category.
Man, i told that Vrana's skating NEVER been his weakness at all. Are you sure that you've replied to right man?

LHC is still playing playoff hockey, against Skellefteå AIK.

Jakub scored in the second semi-final against Skellefteå and now has 4 goals in the playoffs.

I've only seen a few games this season - so I might be guilty of stat watching - but I think he's had a great season.

Anyone care to comment on how his season went?

He became a top 6 forward and impact player. Stats were ok, but he did a lot of good things that didn't end up being points.

Definitely an excellent season of development. He clearly can play in the upper echelon of the SHL, which is something Washington will have to be very happy with.

All in all, he's not too far off from the NHL.

LW/RW Jakub Vrana (2014, 13th overall, WSH)

Nobody cares about him since he was not selected by the club from traditional hockey city but the guy is heating up lately. 6 points in last 2 games for Hershey, 5 in 5 after the injury, 11 in 11 total this season. From what I've seen, wheels and hands are definitely there.

He was 1+2 last night and scored great goal (watch at 0:52).

Video was not working when I posted it so just the link :(

Ironic, I checked his stats just yesterday to see how he was doing and if he was back playing. A very Good prospect that will get more ink soon IMO.

That goal he scored last night was a nasty snipe. Hopefully he continues playing like that.

I'm just curious: is he more of a RW or LW naturally? He played on both positions since the start of his pro career and to me it seems hes equally dangerous on both sides when hes coming down the wing and trying to dangle, take a shot or make a wrap-around play.

Washington has a knack for finding talent. Any player they pick I always look at with interest because you know they pick players in a thoughtful and intelligent manner. Vrana fits the bill.

Always been an intriguing prospect to me. His speed, his shot go together.
