W Jakub Vrana (2014, 13th, WSH)

IMO, one of the most underrated in the 2014 draft. There's not a lot of people talking about him. Who is he comparable to?

He looks like he plays a similar game to Gaborik. Vrana has explosive speed, a good shot and his play making ability is underrated.

They say he needs to improve on D but in this video, he looks like he's a really good penalty killer.

never saw him play in real, but on TV, he remind me of Voracek light. altough, Voracek game is about speed and playmaking skills and Vrana tend to shoot from nowhere...maybe a havlat type? dont know his celling, maybe be an Marty Erat 2.0...

gaborik was an absolute star when he came in the NHL...I know you wrote " similar Play"...not a bad comparaison, but gabo was so amazing at his biggining I can't put gaborik's name when we speak about Vrana

caps fan who saw him play in prospect camp might tell us more, he score's a F/"/**"/* Goal in shootout contest...

bad stats in in SHL, maybe he should start to play in the AHL...

Agreed, what a miss by TSN on this one, Reinhart skating look average at best and Vrana look so fast and shifty...

Yup, that shootout goal was a beauty. Marty Erat doesn't shoot enough so I don't think that is an accurate comparison. I think in terms of size they're similar but Vrana has more skill.

In prospect camp, he played amazing. Vrana and Burakovsky dominated almost every time they were on the ice.
 
I think he compares to a shoot first Voracek. Or Hossa. He was my 2nd favorite prospect in the draft behind Barbashev.

You can probably ignore his SHL stats from last season as he played most of the games on a defensive 4th line with players who are having a really good season offensively if they get 15pts.

He should be in a much better enviroment this year.
 
Vrana really impressed me in the U18, was very surprised to see alot of draft rankings have him so low.

may be a couple of bad years for Czech republic in past is the reason...? As we are waiting for any sign of improving this point of view, Pavel Zacha can be the first overrated Czech player after years...imho You know, I'm not saying, he is a bad hockey player. He is very very very willing to work...
 
Vrana is the type of player who will excel with top players, which makes him a great fit on the Caps down the line. Ovechkin, Backstrom, Kuznetsov, Burakovsky make up a nice nucleus of high-end talent.
 
wow nice goal...not sur against a NHL D or Goalie, but anyway, nice goal

does Vrana will be at the capitals camp this year oo not?
