All a higher run differential means is they crush bad pitching more than most teams. They're pretty typical against good teams and good pitching. I haven't been impressed with their clutch hitting. They strike out a lot. Frankly, they look a lot like the Maple Leafs right now: incredible young offensive talent, inconsistent defense that looks good enough but tends to fold at the worst times, and a first round exit where they looked like chumps.
Pearson or SWR would definitely be one of the pieces at the very least. At least one other top 10 prospect. Don't be surprised if that includes players like Kirk, Martin, or Martinez.
No, I don't care about comparative packages. One problem with being flush with so many prospects is that teams expect to get a little extra from you because they know you can afford it.
Frankly, if the Jays get crushed by the Red Sox in the next two series, I think they should bow out of the race and make moves that focus on the future. Not sell off, just focus on moves that shore up their long term weaknesses. If they can't keep their record up, without any more opportunities to cut into the Rays and A's leads, I just can't see them making up the difference short of a catastrophic failure on the Red Sox and A's part.
