Alright, who are we speaking it into existence that we acquire?

Schrezer is #1 for me. Him with Ryu and Ray would be lights out in the playoffs.

If he isn’t available or the price is too high, then I want Berrios, Gallen, Maeda or Gibsons.

If not them then a rental like Pineda would get the job done.

Thomas Hatch was supposed to start today for Buffalo. Thomas Hatch didn't start today for Buffalo. Please don't be hurt

Kinda crazy I can go to a movie theatre here and take my mask off when I get to my seat because we are distanced...but at the dome with the roof open gotta leave it on. I expected them to take it cautious to start anyway though.

Business decision, wear a mask unless you're eating will cause people to buy more food at the stadium so they can take their mask off

The rotation has been really good of late and Ray has been great all year. Before the season I thought we needed 2 legit top 4 rotation pieces but I think we just need one of #2 quality now.

If we can find someone to fit in between the lefties, say Scherzer for this year and then someone for next few years later on, a rotation of Ryu-Scherzer-Ray-Manoah-Stripling looks pretty damn good!

Only issue with Scherzer is wasn't there a rumor he wouldn't agree to a trade to a team unless they were going to give him a couple year extension? I'd have no problem doing so if it was say 2 more years, but it's a wrinkle.

I like Gibsons. Cheap and 33 with another year on his contract. Routinely pitches against highly offensive teams in hitter friendly ballparks and still looks good. He's gonna be VERY costly though. Not sure how he handles the east though.

Agreed. Would gladly give him $40M over 2 years. Same Lance Lynn but Schrezer is 2 years older has had 9.7 bWAR in the last 3 years to Lance Lynn’s 13.1 bWAR.

Schrezer has a better track record so I would go up to $50M if need be. If he wants 3 years then $20M wouldn’t be terrible.

Maybe a call-up? Please don't be hurt!

I can't see a call-up. We don't have starting rotation depth. Hatch was kept in the minors and not used in our pen earlier because lack of depth caused us to need to keep him stretched out.

Same. That’s why he would not be my first choice. I believe he has the 2nd best ERA in the league. You would be buying high and it would cost a lot.

Would rather buy low on Maeda if possible. Gallen is a name no one is talking about. Arizona is doing a full rebuild and Gallen won’t help them in their next window. Jays have grabbed Ray and other from Arizona recently. Perhaps there is a relationship between the two front offices.

I fully agree with signing Ray, but be prepared to pay 6 years, 20million+ per. I suspect he won't be effective for very long, but we need pitching, and if he walks then we're down to Ryu, Manoah, and Stripling (Stripling is still a bit of a wild card and Manoah will likely sophomore slump).

I know we're supposed to be talking about Pearson now, but he's about to miss yet ANOTHER season without building starter's innings. He needs at least two seasons to achieve the stamina necessary.

Gallen is injured. I agree he's the kind of long term guy you shoot for but it's iffy he'll even be available.

Maeda reminds me a lot of Matz in terms of production. He swings back and forth in effectiveness pretty wildly despite pitching in a weak division. Certainly cheaper, but older. Matz is younger, but of course more expensive and will likely walk. Not really worth it unless you get him for cheap, which we won't.

im okay with wearing one in move, but if im sitting outside and several feet away from other people its just overkill, like all the other measures in canada/ ontario

It's a concession they had to give to get the team here for July. I doubt that the ushers will bother enforcing it.

Is it just me or is anyone else always shocked when remembering that Robbie Ray is just 29? Feels like he has been in the league for 10 years at least.

Quirkiest Robbie Ray stat.....he has given up 20 HR so far this season, but oddly only 36 runs in total.
