He fooled the goalie with the release I’m almost certain he expected him to hold on to it longer. He’s very deceptive with his releases always has been. Makes the goalie look bad

kravtsov went 9th in the draft because of what he showed in the playoffs. Let’s be honest. This kid steps up in big games. The playoffs and world juniors have been his best hockey. It’s good to see it because we need guys that blossom in big spots instead of wilting

It’s certainly becoming a trend with him for sure.

It’s pretty crazy to think that he could soon be on a team with Laf and Kaapo who also have that characteristic

Have absolutely no problem with each and all of these names being put ahead of Kravtsov but then again their ultimate organizational ranking will not be known for many years and Kravtsov might wind up ahead a few.

Yeah, I still put Kravtsov ahead of Miller but I can't really argue with someone who has them swapped. What this all means, and we should be excited about this, is that we have 7(!) prospects who would be head and shoulders above the rest of our prospect pool in any given year the last decade and a half.

Whatever he turns out to be, the screams of not being f consistent will be there.

Then, of course, there’s the conversation of just how long for the organization is he.

Who cares. Quinn’s evil plan to stall and simply ruin his development will happen long before :sarcasm:

there's only the conversation because you keep bringing it up. How about we let him develop, become great and then keep him to help us win cups. And if by some chance before then some team insists on him in a trade for a player we can't turn down, we discuss then. This repeated reference to VK getting moved is beyond childish at this point.

Did I miss the part where I am somehow rushing Kravstov into the lineup? Did I also miss the part where I am demanding he gets traded? If so, please point out. Am going to bet that you are searching for a good, long time.

He can marinate. Let’s give it a bit of time before we start to say who is and who isn’t going to be great.

The reality is that Kravstov can be treated. People propose trades all the time. But stating that Kravstov could be traded is deemed to be childish? Should we ban all trade ideas? Or just qualify that all trade discussions are limited to strictly roster players and not the farm? Would that be the grown up way to have a discussion? Or simply discussion candidates for a trade is childish?

Who gets to be the arbiters of what is grown up and what is childish?

2 more wins away before he is back.

I know some want to see a long playoff run, but I think we know what Kravtsov is and would rather have him available as an asset for the big club. He could start in Hartford. Another couple points in these playoffs and I would be happy with his performance.

If Kravtsov is good at face-offs then yeah try to make him into a center. We already are pretty shit at that. As far as wingers--he's got a lot of competition. Panarin, Kreider, Buchnevich, Lafreniere, Kakko are all ahead of him. Then there's Gauthier, Lemieux, Blackwell and DiGiuseppe who all bring different elements.

Dont really have much interest bringing Krav here for Quinn to play 8 minutes a night. Rather him finish the season in the AHL getting top line minutes.

Kravtsov at center was originally brought up when quite a big segment of the posters were forcing Chytil to a wing. Haven’t heard these sentiments in awhile, thank god, but now because there’re Lafreniere, Kakko and long-term vets in Panarin and Kreider, Kravtsov to center still here.

At the moment without changes to the roster there are Zibanejad, Strome and Chytil all ahead of the Russian for the center spot - so unlike Hayes there’s no NEED to even try him at center while joining the varsity.

Even if he has a little more experience at C than Kakko and Laf, I definitely put him behind them in the pecking order for players to try at C. I think he is a bad fit at center to be frank.

It's mostly based on him playing center for Russia u20 at the Four Nations and WJC. I never thought he was playing his best hockey in that position though.

Kakko has more experience the last 4 years playing center than Kravtsov to be honest. And he was also more successful. But I want neither to play center.

Talented wingers are something we have an abundance of. To me Kravtsov could be a big star or he might just turn into a good player like Buchnevich. That said I don't think he's quite got the upside of Kakko and I expect Lafreniere will become one of the best players in the league. Recently Alexis has been showing some good signs of that. Add in Panarin who's signed for a number of years and is an elite player---Kreider who is also signed long term and that makes Kravtsov's chances of being in the top 6 as a wing for our team anytime soon very doubtful.....and I don't know if he's really a guy that is going to thrive playing with lesser 3rd and 4th line players.

Our issue up front is more at center. Zibanejad was an elite player last year. This year he's run of the mill. The question is will he get back his mojo before the end of the year so that at least that we can go into next season feeling somewhat comfortable that he is still a legit 1C? Strome as 2C is not bad but he can be a frustratingly inconsistent player at times. Chytil's season has been kind of screwed up by his injury---what we've seen though looks like he could possibly be on the verge of breaking out but still that's kind of unknown territory. None of these guys though are having a good season as far as face-offs. Probably our best at that is Howden. Rooney fills in also at center sometimes. It could be a good group if Mika gets back his mojo and Chytil does break out. As far as C prospects---maybe Barron if the Rangers opt for him there. Richards as another potential bottom line C. It's maybe our weakest position as far as prospect depth and this year's draft is not strong in that position either.

Trading wing depth is not really a bad idea if we could find a good center but in Kravtsov's case I'm not sure what we've got and we might end up losing that trade in the long run if he becomes a big star. Still for now it's where and how does he fit?
