I would look to trade buch while his value is high right now. he’s a really good middle 6 guy being disguised as a top 6 guy. he’s a success story as a 3rd rounder. see if you can turn him into something greater or a greater positional need.

Krav could be the top 6 RW with Kakko.

There’s nothing middle 6 about Buchnevich, he’s a top line winger who’s actually likely to be signed to a discounted long-term contract because of low production earlier in his career and Covid impact on the cap.

They are both playmaking RW. We already have Kakko, I've been saying it for years, there isn't room for Kravtsov and Buch, 1 will be dealt unless we are moving Kakko which I don't see happening.
VK showed some finishing ability this year. I don't know if i would label him as a playmaking RW.

Krav is the opposite of our typical Andersson/Henriksson type picks. His tools are drool worthy (6’3” , smooth skating, nasty dangles). The issue is him putting it together and having the right attitude. He needs to have a killer instinct which many (all?) of our players/prospects seem to lack. Guys like Stutzle and Pettersson, yeah they have skills but they also want the puck , want to attack the opposition, and want to make shit happen every shift , and don’t shy away from physicality even though they aren’t very big

I'm sorry, but whaaaat? Who cares about their nationality? They could both be Martians for all I care. They are compared because one is the hopeful heir to the other. They are also discussed in the same sentence because some believe that one is expendable because the other exists.
I think alot of people, and you know this, naturally compare prospects to others from their country. Happens all the time whether warranted or not.

If Kakko is a 35 point guy long-term, I think the organization is in a bad enough spot where it doesn't matter that much if we have Buchnevich, an okay futures return, or nothing at all. In the better-case scenarios, it's too much cap space for wingers.

As unlikely scenario as this is - I disagree.

Lafreniere fulfilling his draft status plus Buchnevich being a 60-point RW on the opposite to Lafreniere side will go a long way on the path to contention. That’s why the depth of the Rangers prospects pool is so important, individual prospects failing won’t hinder the overall future club success.

I just can't watch him and not see a center. He's like Gauthier with much more puckhandling ability, awareness, and agility, and without the weight. Not only do I see a center, I don't see a very noteworthy NHL winger...

So, what is the similarity? Kravtsov looks more like a poor man's Jonathan Huberdeau to me.

Two highly skilled playmaking wingers with size and high hockey IQ.

While Kravtsov points are lower than Buch’s at the same age, because he already had a chance to play and practice (and prepare in offseason) in NA, he’s further along his development trajectory than Buchnevich, especially away from the puck.

Buchnevich scores at a 50-point pace. I am optimistic Kakko will do that, and not as optimistic but still hopeful Kravtsov will do that, but until we see something close to that from either, I wouldn't just walk away from Buch. If you can re-sign him to a reasonable extension, I think you absolutely do it. If he continues to produce at his normal rate, he should be very moveable if not highly desirable. I'd hate to have him walk and Kakko becomes like a 35-point guy and Kravtsov busts or something.

If Kakko tops out as Buchnevich he would be a disappointment. Hell, I was hoping Kravtsov would be closer to a 60 point guy, especially in today's NHL. But I guess his stock is down.

I've compared Kaako to Blake Wheeler in the way I expect him to develop. Kravtsov, to me, hovers between Kuznetsov and Huberdeau (not ceiling, in playing style)

Don’t look but Buchnevich is trending as a 60-point winger.

I will continue to reiterate the fact that his stylistic comparable is Elias Pettersson regardless of the fact that everybody else is blind and can't see it
Stylistically I don't think there are two players that resemble each other more in the entire sport than Kravtsov and Pettersson. Everything from their body type, skating stride, shooting mechanics, stick handling, to their mannerisms, are near carbon copies.

Is he, he's such a frustrating player to me. He seems to blow more great opportunities than anyone not named Mika, and has done so his whole career.
He's on pace for over 60pts, people always talk about how many chances he blows but the fact that he blows that many chances and still produces as much as he does; means that he generates a hell of a lot of offense. His defensive analytics are also some of the best in the league, may be the best PK'ing winger in the NHL this year. And this is his first year of playing the PK but he is phenomenal at it

He also has a snazzy beard.

This. Buchnevich is a high offensive chances generation machine. If he were to convert on these chances at a ratio some folks expect - he’d be right there with Panarin, Kane etc.

Not a slight to Kravtsov but remember how we thought we were getting Walhstrom? Then everyone was like Walhstrom sucks. I was 1 who preferred Walhstrom, he has 8 points in 16 games with barely any ice time.

Were you saying it still while Wahlstrom sucked in college?

Also has a 5 game point streak with 6 pts in that span lol
In our draft prediction thread that year I had us trading Hayes for a pick in the teens, with us taking Wahlstrom, Kravtsov, Miller & Lundkvist.

What are your guys predictions for who we'll select and what trades will be made?

when we were worried about having too many wingers and not drafting any centers with top 6 potential everyone was like "we can trade from positions of strength (wing) for a center" and now nobody wants to trade any of our wingers lol

I mean we’re discussing trading for Eichel so I guess the team’s this position of strength is pretty strong, lol.
