Small but important piece of information. The bus doesn't give out change so you have to have the exact amount. Suggest getting a bus pass and putting the amount you need on it for bus rides for your trip. You just scan it as you get on. Easier than trying to have exact amount each ride.

The Green Line is rail, not bus.

Where the hell is that skyway? We walked around looking for it, but after 5 minutes or so, we figured we'd just go outside instead of wasting more time just to use the skyway, haha.

Did you park at the RiverCentre? Because I'm genuinely amazed if you missed that skyway and parked over there.

Yeah, we parked in the River Centre, but we didn't use the Skyway to get into the arena, went directly outside on the street level, because we were gonna go get something to eat before the game.

I'm talking about after the game from inside the arena, when you want to go from the X to the River Centre ramp. Is it marked on the signs inside the arena? Because we walked around for a while and didn't see anywhere that indicated where to go for the skyway.

Yeah, it's actually weirdly hard to find the skyway after games. One time I tried to sneak onto the suite level to get out that way; needless to say that didn't work.

You have to go out the main gate (over by the box office), then take a sharp turn and go up the big-ass staircase toward the clocktower:

Not quite Hockey, but I'm bringing my boys to Minneapolis to catch some Tiberwolves games on January 1 & 3, does anyone know if there are any open practices for the public to watch? We have been trying to find some info and haven't been able too. Thanks.

Practices are closed to the public.

Headed there for the Arizona game on Saturday. Definitely going to check out Tom Reid's and Eagle Street. Possibly Alary's. Was also told to check out Lowertown - anyone know anything on that area?

Alary's is more or less kind of "Lowertown". Lowertown isn't really much, square footage wise in the grand scheme of things Downtown. Could check out Bulldog (restaurant) not far from there. Herb Brooks' brother is owner of it, or at least did own it I think.

Thanks for the recommendations. Are they "hockey themed" such as Eagle Street and Tom Reid's or is it more of a hipster atmosphere?

Alary's is a police hangout with cop car doors all over hanging above, with lots of flat screens with sports on. It's kind of cool. Bulldog is a bit more hipster but sports TVs all over as well.

Cool - I've been to Alary's before but haven't been to Bulldog. We're thinking maybe start at Alary's and then make our way to Reid's and Eagle. Probably stop at Cosetta's for a quick bite before the game. Thanks for the info!

Going to Northfield Feb 6 and 7 for my daughters Cobbers hockey teams series with St Olaf. Any place I should check out as far as food and drink? I will be heading over to Wisconsin to bring home some Spotted Cow.

Check out the malt-o-meal cereal factory :sarcasm:

I have some family in Northfield, and some friends who went to St. Olaf. Apparently when the wind is right, the Malt 'O Meal smells waft up the hill and make the whole campus smell amazing

This is true and wonderful, but when the wind blows the other way, it smells like cow ****.

Anyway, here's what I remember from my time there: Contented Cow is the better pub. (The other, Froggy Bottoms, is the cheap college drinking spot.) Hogan Brothers has pretty good sandwiches and ice cream. Basil's is actually really good pizza (especially the Gyro pizza). Chapati is good if you like Indian food. Uhhhh that's about it. It's not exactly a hopping town.

Much better than what they had in Eau Claire when I went there - a Purina plant. Nothing like the air being saturated with the smell of Dog Chow.

Thanks. Appreciate it. I know it's a small town but just wanted a heads up if there is something there that is a must to go to while there.
